JAY-Z may be nominated in 8 categories at this Sunday’s Grammy Awards, but it appears he won’t be taking to the stage to perform.

Citing sources close to the situation, Hits Daily Double report that Jigga has elected not to perform at the 60th Annual Grammys.
It’s not immediately clear why, considering he seemed to be a shoo-in to grace the stage. Especially given his presence in major categories such as Album Of The Year (‘4:44’), Record Of The Year (‘The Story Of OJ’), and Song Of The Year (‘4:44’).
Some are theorising that the decision has to do with the routine reality of Urban releases being heavily nominated but rarely winning in key categories. Which, viewed this way, would see Jay not allowing himself to be “used” for TV ratings – as some have argued to be the case for wife Beyonce.
Others, however, are putting it down to the Roc Nation mogul’s other Grammy related plans – which notably includes being the honoree at the ‘Grammy Salute To The Industry Icons’ event the night before.
Speaking on that celebration, the President Of The Recording Academy Neil Portnow said in a statement:
“We are absolutely thrilled and delighted to honor JAY-Z with this year’s Grammy Salute to Industry Icons Award. His contributions as an industry trail-blazer and music visionary only begin to touch on the tremendous impact he’s made both in entertainment and beyond.”
Whatever the case, this weekend is shaping up to be a major one for Mr. Carter!
It’s because he found out he wasn’t getting an award.
They look down on Black award shows and expect the Grammys to show them the love they don’t show to their own people. Bey really needs to leave this dude.

And everybody else that’s speaking up about inequality or in black culture in this country at least show up to the NAACP awards next year (MTV bet soul train etc.) that really doesn’t matter when you have nothing to promote. But the NAACP is such a prestigious organization not only in the black community but America period. For it to be so ghetto and underfunded is due to lack of viewership because our people arent representing that platform with their star power. It was so terrible to see how low budget that show looked . There were no performances so it gave people in our culture with powerful voices a voice to speak other than the entertainers who would of course be awarded in the category nominated but also shine a light on politics Economics leadership and black future innovation and let it be about a message. The NAACP AWARDS should be the most entertaining and inspiring award show on television. Black excellence for real. I swear I should be the creative director for everything in black culture. I think that’s one of my things.

Probably because this album didn’t really have a break out hit besides TSOJ. The censorship on that performance would be aggy asf. 444 album, great but wasn’t very commercial. Who knows beck didn’t perform when he won album of the year Jay might just come to make a speech having America like vote for Jay Z and TaiTai 2020 ?

So now artists will complain about something new every year, they’re forcing the Grammys and the Oscars to do exactly what they want, it’s pathetic, they’re not obligated to reward artists based on race, ethnicity, gender or sexuality, it’s just ridiculous.
