Fergie suffered a vocal malfunction tonight at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game.
The Black Eyed Peas performer had been tapped to kick off festivities with a rendition of the US National Anthem, ‘The Star Spangled Banner.’
However, from the very first note it quickly became apparent that her pitch, tone, and control took the night off.
We weren’t expecting Whitney, but certainly weren’t anticipating that.
While we have empathy for Fergie given the rough time she’s been experiencing of late (personally and professionally), there’s no side-stepping how dismal that sounded.
At this point, she really ought to lay low for a while and expedite her return to the Black Eyed Peas.

Wasn’t butchered IMO. I loved the styling and arrangement. Some of the notes were sharp but all in all good job. The naysayers will be only use to the more popular version. Kudos to her for taking a chance.

It was pretty bad but not overly terrible until she got to “Ooh say does that star spangled..” part. Whew she sounded awful. I commend the players holding it together as well as they did because they wanted to laugh so bad. Fergie. NO…just NO!!!
Damn, Fergie, that was horrible. It sounded like a Christmas song mixed with a goat. Fergie has never been the greatest vocalist, but is a good singer with a unique voice. But girl, this was horrible from start to finish

I´ve said it many times. Not everybody can sing these types of songs. Only few like Whitney or Celine Dion can do it stunningly. And then there are others who can do really good like Gaga, Pink…
