New Song: Busta Rhymes – ‘Get It (ft. Kelly Rowland & Missy Elliott)’

Published: Friday 2nd Feb 2018 by Sam

It’s here!

Busta Rhymes aims to blaze with new single ‘Get It’ and has recruited both Kelly Rowland and Missy Elliott to help turn up the heat.

Produced by Bangladesh, the track is evocative of Busta’s 2006 smash ‘Touch It’ and features a sample of Ms. Kelly’s unreleased 2011 jam ‘Smooches’ – which is also produced by the drum-friendly beat-maker.

Have the trio cooked up a smash? Listen below and let us know…

We like!

Structurally, it’s driving in a lot of directions at once (possibly too many), but somehow still works.

Busta proves himself still capable, Missy slays her part , and while it could have featured “more” Kelly, her looped line used to solid effect in context.

All in all, the trio deliver a decent dance which some potential on the Urban format if given the full treatment.

The instrumental is lacking, like its missing a part of the beat. Kelly’s loop is cool but it gets annoying after awhile. I don’t like this song, more like noise.

His flow is on show but the instrumentsl track is too stripped down, it needed a sung vocal over a chorus to break it up. A little hysterical and more of a ‘buzz track’ than ‘Fire ?’

Busta and Missy came thru but Kelly being featured when her vocal loop has been slowed down and pitched down makes me feel weird. I wish she would’ve gotten at least a sung bridge but ooh well

Instead of the New Years underrated award being named after Kelly it should be after Missy Elliot.. I just listened to the snippet and I’m already turnt… ???
