Cardi B‘s link to rap outfit Migos is well-documented thanks to her relationship with member Offset.
Now, the femcee’s closeness to the clan is veering into professional territory. Because, with just a week to go before her debut album ‘Invasion Of Privacy’ arrives in stores, it’s been revealed that the star has signed to the group’s management.
Variety reports that the 25-year-old has switched over to the firm Quality Control – whose managerial roster includes Migos and Lil Yatchy.
She was previously signed to KSR Group, who shepherded her rise through to the apex of the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘Bodak Yellow.’
Cardi, real name Belcalis Almanzar, will now be managed by QC’s Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “Pee” Thomas. The pair have been instrumental in orchestrating company’s rapid and roaring success.
The timing of this is oh so interesting. Like, Cardi’s album drops in a week!
Could a change in management have been one of the causes of the delay? What (or who) prompted the switch? Was it mutual or acrimonious?
So many questions.
What most will be looking to see, though, is whether she lives up to the hype with both the incoming material and its roll-out.
