Chris Brown & Lil Dicky Hit #1 On iTunes With ‘Freaky Friday’

Published: Friday 16th Mar 2018 by Sam

Chris Brown and Lil Dicky may have taken the comical approach with their new single ‘Freaky Friday,’ but the song’s success is no joke. It’s legit.

Full story below…

Less than 24-hours after the release of its video, the track has rocketed to #1 on US iTunes.

The visual, which sees the pair proof the movie of the same name, has already amassed 5 million views.

With radio already spinning with ample ferocity, this could well be on its way to being a surprise smash.

For those unfamiliar with Dicky, he’s a comedian and rapper who rose to prominence with viral video ‘Ex-Boyfriend.’ And by the looks of things, he’s on the cusp of securing his next major moment.

This is sad. It literally sounds like all of his previous songs. I will say, id love to hear Chris’s voice without autotune for once.

Welcome to Chris Brown’s world where all his dancers are black and all his leading ladies are non-black.

Post Black Panther era…we’ve got to do better. We hold outsiders accountable for fair, balance and equal representation of us, but yet we don’t demand it from those that look like us. NOw who is really culture vulturing and appropriating.

I agree but I disagree also. I definitely agree with you about the lack of leading black ladies in Chris’ videos but at the same time I have never seen him cast a white leading lady in any of his own videos either. Chris wants to be the Michael Jackson of this generation and as far as I can remember the only black women Michael Jackson ever cast as his leading ladies were Ola May (Thriller) and Naomi Campbell (Keep It In The Closet). Similarly, Chris has cast black leading ladies in a few of his videos but most of the time he is using mixed and hispanic models.
