Christina Aguilera is getting stripped all over again.
But this time, there’s no butt-baring chaps in sight. Xtina has unveiled a much more scaled back, ethereal image in the newest issue of Paper Magazine – which she also covers.
Within its pages, she expands on her fresh aesthetic, being inspired by the Childish Gamibo and Cardi B, and body image.
The feature arrives as anticipation for her new album – her first since 2012’s ‘Lotus’ – escalates.

“I’ve always been someone that obviously loves to experiment, loves theatrics, loves to create a storyline and play a character in a video or through stage. I’m a performer, that’s who I am by nature. But I’m at the place, even musically, where it’s a liberating feeling to be able to strip it all back and appreciate who you are and your raw beauty.”

On Defying Society’s Standards Of Beauty:
“There’s always gonna be those trolls out there or people that have their own definition and ideals of beauty, but I think we’re progressing to a place of pushback and more people coming out.

“Childish Gambino. He’s genius.

Everyone be talking that s*** about “Bionic” but it was actually better than Lotus, visually, vocally, & production wise. She had some standout tracks on that album it was just poorly promoted. But now Lotus I only really liked shut the f*** up & my body. The rest just wasn’t catchy or didn’t stick enough for me to be interested.
