In an announcement made moments ago, the Pop quad revealed that they are going on an indefinite hiatus.
Banding together in a joint statement, Lauren, Ally, Dinah, and Normani offered the following:
It remains to be seen whether the “break” will indeed serve as that or function as a covert means of disbanding the group.
In any case, the pause brings to temporary end a journey filled with peaks and troughs for the ladies.
There were the groundbreaking chart achievements in the form of ‘Work From Home’ and ‘Worth It,’ and the controversy (see: Camila Cabello‘s 2016 departure).
Questionable handling of the group’s self-titled album last year seemed to etch the writing on the wall.
With each lady pressing ahead with solo ventures, the months and year ahead ought to be very interesting – especially given the reports that Normani and Lauren have signed solo deals.
All in all, for us here at TGJ, we’d love to see 5H step away, do their own thing, and regroup as and when it makes most sense commercially.

The article said they have shows later this year planned. I don’t think that’s the issue. The issue is Epic Records for letting this get out of hand for well over a year of funny business decisions. I mean 5h has only performed at 1-2 award shows in the last year. Poor single choices/videos. They used to be everywhere whether if ppl liked them or not. Self Titled got 2-3 weeks of promo and it was very short lived. Epic gave upon them to the point that they ALL actually had time to do solo things.

I”m going to file this into the category of “Duh!” Everyone has solo deals, that group is only getting back together if their solo careers flop, hope they all have success but the writing was already on the wall for the group ending, Hiatus is just a way of not pissing the fans off too badly.
The group has nothing left. The star left. And the world doesn’t need the same tired bops over and over. I hope they all do just as well as Camilla in their solo endeavors.

LOL NORMANI IS THE STAR. EPIC INVESTED MORE INTO CAMILA ONLY AFTER HAVANNAH UHNAH NAH POPPED. Her album is only selling 3-4 thousand copies a week and just hit 100k since being released in January. That’s not a star. That’s propaganda. Yes, we see her everywhere but don’t believe the hype. It’s a sad time for music when the highest selling female album of 2018 only sold 100,000 going into the 2nd quarter of the year.
Camila is NOT a star. Girl had at least 5 features and plenty of buzz singles before a sleeper hit came to the front. Plus she had promo out the ass from Epic and still manages to flop. Epic should have dropped 5H from the beginning. Their business dealing with both Camila and 5H is MESSY AF, which shows Camila just wanted to go solo from the beginning…girl bye.
I’ll start first by saying that i’m sad about this whole situation. These artist use so many smoke and mirror techniques to negate the fact that a lot of what has been reported is actually true. These women have said “they are not breaking up” numerous times. Even before I was a supporter of 5H, I remember stories about Camila potentially going solo and I never understood why they would deny what’s actually true. Secondly, if EVERYBODY in the group wanted to go solo, why was it such a big issue not to support Camila’s solo endeavors when she says she wanted it both ways (solo+group)? She says that the group was not here for it. That might have been I lie too. Epic needs to drop them if they don’t plan on supporting the girls. Camila replaced the group.
They all had agreed on terms to do solo endeavors after their 3rd album. It wasn’t about Camilla going solo… it was all about the timeing!
Well this is no surprise. The whole handling of 24/7 was awful. The campaign was so rushed – the album had more potential. Equally, Camilla departing and the leaking of infights and solo deals really did put the final nail in the coffin.
Never cared for any of them. Destiny’s Child reigns supreme!!!

It would be dumb for them to stay together when Camilla out performed their last album as a solo artist. I’m sure they all will get back together in the future including Camilla when no one is checking for them. *Side bar: GO NORMANI!

I REALLY don’t care what anyone says! This was definitely the result of Camila’s success. It’s quite coincidental that once Camila achieves greater success than this group ever had, as a solo artist, now the rest of the group aim for solo deals. I truly hope they all make it on their own BUT,
