‘Side to Side’: Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj Label Faces Copyright Lawsuit

Published: Friday 30th Mar 2018 by David

Ariana Grande’s smash hit jam ‘Side to Side‘ has found itself in a web of legal trouble.

Full story below…

The single appeared on Grande’s latest album ‘Dangerous Woman’ and features the Hip-Hop royal Nicki Minaj.

Alas, this month has seen the ladies learn that they may be forced to prove how they and its writers created the jam now that a man named Christopher O’Connor claims that they ripped one of his jams to build it.

O’Connor believes that after sending the track above to the ladies’ label Universal they used a number of its elements to  craft ‘Side’ without crediting him.

TMZ reports…

He’s suing UMG — not Grande or Minaj — asking for royalties from “Side To Side” (which currently has over a billion views on YouTube) and a song-writing credit.

Dead. Sounds nothing a like apart from 1 single cord. Man ppl are too funny. If you compare any random 2 songs side by side you’ll probably a similarity. This is complete garbage.

I could hear what he is saying. You have to know music to hear the similarities. Not a stretch.
If you sent your music to the record company, you would feel leary too. He has a case. Good luck Chris.
