‘Caught Up In The Rapture’: Anita Baker Makes Major Gains On Spotify

Published: Sunday 29th Apr 2018 by David

In the 80s and 90s Anita Baker soared on the charts with her deeply romantic brand of R&B and became one of the world’s highest-selling artists.

In 2018, the performer is to discover that her permeation of Pop culture has seen her find fans in millennials whose interest in her material has spelled success for her on Spotify.

Good news below…

Currently embarking on her last tour, the performer has watched the number of streams she garnered on the thriving platform spin to new heights as fans (old and new) use it to celebrate the Quiet Storm diva’s sounds.

The entertainer’s monthly listener count zoomed past the 600,000 point in the early hours of this morning as her grandest hit, ‘Sweet Love‘, saw its total streams fly towards the 20 million mark after its latest set of plays pushed it to the 19,519,000 mark.

With this, the track’s writers (Baker being one of them) can expect pocket a $78,076 cheque from the platform but may be bummed to learn that they would have earned $546,532 had it received the same number of spins on TIDAL.

Caught Up In The Slayture lol…loved the Rapture album since I was a kid and I still love it the same! You know how some artist’s voices sounded better when you were younger? Miss Anita’s voice was smooth as butter then and she’s still serving that same butter now lol ? A masterpiece album, especially for the grown and sophisticated dahhhling *Sashays away* ???

Ms Baker needs to find her retiring touring ass to a city near me. I’m planning on seeing Ms Baker, Ms Hill and Ms Moses this year if god allows

Don’t waste your $$ on Lauryn Hill. She will be late and she won’t sing the regular versions of her classics!
