First Look: Whitney Houston & Bobby Brown As Portrayed In His Forthcoming BET Biopic [Photos]

Published: Wednesday 4th Apr 2018 by Rashad

BET’s ratings giant – ‘The New Edition Story’ miniseries – is certainly a tough act to follow, but that doesn’t mean the network won’t pull out all the stops trying.  As previously announced, the follow-up to the showing will come in the form of group member Bobby Brown‘s solo biopic.

Reportedly filling in the blanks and picking up where ‘New Edition’ left off, the ‘Bobby Brown Story’ will also detail the singer’s battle with alcohol and drug addiction, numerous jail stints, and, of course, his infamously tumultuous marriage to late pop icon Whitney Houston.

Set for a fall 2018 premiere, the film will see ‘New Edition Story’ star Woody McClain reprise his role as Bobby Brown and ‘The Game’ star Gabrielle Dennis portray Houston (as we reported here).  Filled out by an all-star cast that also features the likes of Mekhi Phifer, Laz Alonso, Lance Gross, and many more, anticipation for the forthcoming feature – already at a feverish pitch – will certainly go into overdrive once fans cop a gander at recently released photos from the set.

I don’t get a Whitney vibe from her sorry. Hopefully she comes through though.

True. Only in the photo with her in fur.
The girl from Top Model Yaya was great in the 1st story/movie.
Glad they kept Woody. Regardless, I am in. Loved Bobby & Whitney.

I’m not here for this. Because I don’t like his comments about Whitney in his book. I think this would be a 1 sided look at Whitney which will paint her in a bad light

I agree. I do not know how a man colud be so cold to paint his wife / mother of his child in such a negative light and to be such a coward and wait to do it after she passed so she could not refute anything. Bobby Brown is TRASH. I would rather see a movie on another 80s / 90s male singer like R. Kelly, Christopher Williams, Keith Sweat, Usher, Eric Benet, or Al B Sure. All of them had enough drama in their lives to pull off a good tv movie.

        That’s the truth

Even Stevie Wonder could see that Bobby was jealous of her success when they were together. Whitney was always shoving this dude in our face when we weren’t checkin for him, and now to drag her when she’s not here to say yes or no….. dude is scum.

I think he’s in part motivated by the fact that other people have already told the Whitney/Bobby & New Edition stories and now he is taking the opportunity to tell his own story from his perspective. Better to do it while you’re still alive and kicking and able to have control over the story.

Halle Berry should have been top choice to play Whitney!! She’s as beautiful as Whitney was…
