It’s official! Gwen Stefani is heading to Las Vegas.
Full story below…
The No Doubt diva is the latest star to hit Sin City, following successful stints from the likes of Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Celine Dion.
Christened ‘Gwen Stefani: Just A Girl’ (borrowing its title from the No Doubt’s 1995 smash), the residency will be housed at the Zappos Theater at the Planet Hollywood Resort.
Initially a 25-show series, the spectacle will kick off with three back to back performances June 27th-30th.
Thereafter, Stefani will play select dates in July and December this year and continue into February and March (2019). Her setlist will be comprised of the countless hits she’s released both solo and as part of No Doubt.
Speaking on the venture, the 48-year-old said in a statement:
“To be able to do a show in Vegas is such as incredible honor. Growing up in Anaheim, California, I could never have imagined having my own residency. I have been so fortunate to tour throughout my career, but to create a show for Vegas is something I’ve never experienced and I can’t wait!”
In a commendable move, Stefani will donate $1 from each ticket sold to the Las Vegas Cure 4 The Kids Foundation.
Well slay then Gwen.
Record sales are on the wane industry-wide; this being something she learned firsthand upon the release of her last Pop album ‘This Is What The Truth Feels Like’.
Still, in an era where success is oh so relative, she’s quickly acclimatised and realized that she could leverage her personality (‘The Voice’) and now her catalogue (this residency) towards securing the bag.
Again, go Gwen!
