The demise of Iggy Azalea‘s career has harmed more than her sales. For, this year has seen her reveal that her fall from grace has caused celebrities she thought were her friends to reject and ignore her.

Azalea counts Quavo among only three artists who have personally helped her over the past year. “If I’m being honest, the only people who have been there for me are Quavo, Kesha and Demi,” she says. “And everyone else has pretty much acted like I don’t exist.” Azalea says that she and Kesha text all the time — they’ve made a date to tackle some jigsaw puzzles together, while Kesha recovers from a torn ACL — and that Lovato often calls to check up on her. “People like Charli, I’ll see them in passing and say hi, there’s no bad blood about that,” she explains. “But there definitely have been some people that I feel like, ‘Okay, wow, you’re really gonna completely disassociate because of other people’s perceptions?’ Which is kind of wack as fuck, but I try not to dwell too much on those things, because I understand — you guys have your own brands, and you’re just trying to protect yourself. I try not to take that personally.”
Once championed by the industry, Azalea now finds herself forced to support her new material without the benefit of the infrastructure that was erected to turn her single ‘Fancy’ into a #1 single back in 2014.
For this reason, her latest single ‘Savior‘ has fallen out of the iTunes Top 200 spelling trouble for the release of its forthcoming parent album.

She better recognize her blessings. Being an independent artist is great because you can make more money off of your music. She is lazy and whining instead of capitalizing.
You all keep believing that mess. It’s 100 times harder being an indie artist. Indie artist have to fund everything themselves. You have to have to wait longer to see a profit, if there even is one. They have to tour non stop to earn a living.
The few indie artist that do make it have sponsors and even that’s limited. There are indie artist that don’t even own their masters because they had to sell them just to live. An artist as non talented as Iggy does better under a machine(Label),if they don’t have one they flop. I don’t know where you people have gotten the idea that you make more money as an indie artist but it’s totally false and I wish I would stop seeing it being spread on blogs because anyone with an inkling of business savy would know it’s simply not true! Just like how people were saying everyone was on a 360 record deal a couple of years ago and had no clue to what one actually was.
Girl bye. There is no one type of indie artist. She is in a great position to be an indie artist cause she has face and name recognition. Record labels are not going to invest money into a dying brand so it is her only option to sustain her career. She has to man up and do the hard work. I never said it was easy so don’t put words in my mouth.
Totally true. You make more money per album as an indie artist but what’s the point if you can only sell 2000 copies. At least if you are under a machine you get exposure and if your album flops you can still sign endorsement’s because of the exposure alone.

What’s $5 a pop for an album when you’re only going to sell less than 100K? You still have taxes,copyright fees,travel fees, room and board fees etc! Most of the time major labels cover these things and basically give it to you at a discount. There are no indie artist? What kind of stupidity? So are we going to ignore the fact that billboard even acknowledges indie artist or do you know more than billboard? Try that mess with the regulars, you’re out of your league. You simply don’t know what you’re talking about and got called on it.
Girl you are slow and stupid for that comment. Record labels do not pay for those charges. They give artists can advance. An advance is a loan. Record labels reap in most of the profits from album sales. In the current music industry an independent artist has to work hard and do shows and appearances where the rider (expenses) are paid for by the promoter. Independent artists can sign with a good manager to book them on Wendy, the Today Show, club appearances, and concerts and all of those expenses are paid for by the promoter / booking agent. I manage artists (both independent and signed) and I know this as a fact! It is hard work. I never said it was easy. You are delusional if you think record labels pay these expenses. You are also delusional if you think this girl should stop working just to eventually get signed by one of these crooked low ball offer record labels at this point. Face the reality for the artist we are speaking on and stop trying to paint a generalist picture that is not applicable for her.

Yeah when TI left, he took all his connections with him (Invisible Men, team of writers, etc.) she just hasn’t found anyone yet who can/will make/give their best material to her because all her beats and records just haven’t been as good as her older stuff. ALSO SHE SHOULD HAVE PUT DEMI IN THE HOOK INSTEAD OF QUAVO AND SHOULD’VE BEEN IN THE VIDEO, ITD HAVE A FAR BIGGER CHANCE OF CHARTING
