The superstar songbird isn’t letting her legal showdown with ex manager Stella Bulochnikov bring her down.
Instead, she’s putting her all into the recording of her new album – her first body of work since 2014’s ‘Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse.’
The set also serves as her first since singing with Roc Nation management.
Word is that we’ll be hearing the fruits of her studio labor in later in the year. But, for now, Mimi is drumming up excitement via social media.

Now that we’re finally beyond that bizarre window of time when she claimed she was focussing on singles instead albums (shudders), we’re elated to see her looking great and seeming inspired.
She’s been through a lot in recent times and fingers crossed she pulls on all of that to deliver the comeback album of comeback albums.

YES, her die hard “fans” of the past will eat up a good $25,000 units of whichever said project is released, but NOBODY amongst young listeners or the major record buying/streaming/downloading public will support. These are FACTS and the original commentator is CORRECT in their assessment.

Mariah knows what she’s doing. She needs another song like We Belong Together, ie a song that appeals to all age groups.
Mariah is the most streamed artist from 90s, and in top 20 of all time streamed females on Apple Music. Her last album has been streamed over 150 million times just in Spotify. Her last era still sold 3+ millions.

Mariah still has a legion of fans, but most of them love her for her back catalogue consisting of chart toppers & memorable music moments that existed between 1990 through 2006. Mariah has not served major industry relevance in the past 12 years & that is a FACT. Her accolades of the past still hold her dear & near legendary status, but no one gives a sh*t about her onslaught teases of “new music”. Mariah is finished in regards to creating contemporary bops or otherwise, classics. She cannot dance, can barely still sing & is now using mental health issues as a crutch to lean on the heart strings of public sympathy. It’s late & she is tired. Period!

That’s your personal opinion. I’ve liked all her albums and she had a number one record in 2008 on her platinum “e=mc2” album. Her last album was critically acclaimed, had a top 20 and is one amazingly eclectic cd. I’m not sure what you’re lisyening to. I believe that this new era is for herself because she has already made history. I really think we are in for a treat. This new music is what the masses have been waiting for from her and then some I feel it.

Mariah has played with her legacy repeatedly & regardless of what this new era promises, her time is long gone. In this day & age, Mariah Carey will never ever be able to chart in the number one spot & she will never ever again receive commercial success by present day mainstream standards. her fan base is comprised MOSTLY by hard copy album/cd purchasing consumers. The large majority of her supporters and core listeners aren’t going to stream her music or pay for digital downloads. These are FACTS. So, unless Mariah can recreate the magic of her Emancipation album & have it released in physical form to major Target/WalMart/Starbucks retailers, she has no chance in hell of any new project fairing better on the charts or amongst critics as her last efforts of the past 12 years.
