Now, after Cardi B urged fans not to buy into claims that the ladies are feuding, Minaj has received praise from music lovers after a report published by the platform ‘MNR’ (and substantiated by TGJ’s sources with ties to both ladies) revealed that she delayed the new release of new material to support Cardi’s.

For, according to well-placed sources, Minaj had considered releasing new music at the top of the month but changed her mind after learning Cardi’s well-received set ‘Invasion of Privacy’ was to impact retailers on April 6th.

The report alleges that Minaj was encouraged to unlock her new sounds in the same period as Cardi but, realising that her pure sales would eclipse the newcomer’s, stepped out of the way to avoid a chart war she is likely to have won.
How Cardi’s opening week numbers are to set fare when compared to her contemporaries? Very well.
The album is set to open around the 170,000 units mark (45,000 of this stemming from pure sales) and outperform the first week figures nabbed by Iggy Azalea‘s ‘The New Classic’, Azealia Banks‘ ‘Broke with Expensive Taste’ and Remy Ma‘s ‘Plata o Plomo.’

To put this FLOP in perspective, back in 2003 Solange debut Solo Star… yes SOLANGE sold 112,000 copies first week according to Nielsen SoundScan. No Hits whatsoever , no popularity whatsoever yet sold a significant portion of what ALIYAH used to sell. It baffles me to this day cuz her music was awful back then. But I will say Cardi B has HEAT on this album and the better songs after Bodak Yellow (10, Money Bag, Thru yur Phone & i like It) have not been released yet. This will be a SLOW & STEADY seller mark my words. Missy worked with Bey on her 2nd album “Da Real World” and it wasn’t even a released single. Missy released about 5 singles on her 2nd album (that were HITS) and “Crazy Feelings” wasn’t one of them. Missy’s first album sold more than her 2nd so let’s not act like Bey’s feature on the second one benefited Missy’s sales. On the contrary, Missy benefited Bey’s popularity & sales by writing and producing on Destiny’s Child’s “The Writings On The Wall” on the song Confessions, featuring on the “Bootylicious” remix and video, writing and producing on Bey’s 1st album on the song “Signs”, letting Bey feature on Missy’s highest selling album “Under Construction” (still before Bey was a solo artist & majorly popping), and “Free”, a song that Missy, Bey, MC Lyte, and Free (from the original 106 & Park) collabed on in the early 00’s.

I think her health had something to do with her slowing down on music. Gaga on the other hand dropped 4 albums after working with Bey, all of which fall in the range of gold or platinum. She also headlined the Super Bowl and had a world tour. She’s still on it.

This isn’t a good look. I believe that these labels have conspired to use Cardi as an attack on your position but that should only matter if you believe your blessing comes from ppl.
