Rita Ora On Roc Nation Deal: “I Felt Discriminated Against”

Published: Monday 7th May 2018 by David

Rita Ora has declared her admiration for Beyonce in a new interview with the ‘Sunday Times’.

What the household name has to say about her former mentor and the way she was treated at her husband’s company Roc Nation?

Find out below…

I want to find the right word here, and maybe this is my interpretation but I do feel I got discriminated against because I was a woman. I almost felt — maybe this is just my interpretation — I could have had a better chance if I’d been male.

The star had that to say about her time at Jay Z‘s Roc Nation…the company she parted ways from following a series of highs and lows with them in 2015.

On Beyonce?

She’s the nicest person, bestest person I have ever met in the whole industry. I’m not just saying that. I’d die for her. Nobody can ever say anything wrong about that woman in front of me. I get emotional just talking about it.

Her business-minded sister Elena now steers her ship.

I’d always wanted to become a household name [not just a pop singer], that was my dream. My sister and I, we argue like crazy all the time, but we’re very proud of what we’ve done up to this point.

Your thoughts?

In this new “CLIMATE” you have to be an iconic vocalist or an Incredible dancer/entertainer or a Fashion Icon….she is NONE of the above. NEXT>>>>>>>>>

I have to call b*******!! Roc nation isn’t the best place but the music was garbage, and she cared more about her personal life (dating rob Kardashian/cheating on him and Calvin Harris). Don’t blame someone else for your mistakes!!

Roc Nation pushed the h3ll out of her, Jay Z was at her first rdio interview, Jay paid Rihanna dust for a good 3 years, and still pays JCole dust and you can do the research on how he was lamost dropped because he couldn’t make a hit like his Drake and Big Sean peers. Rita just wasn’t IT.

I was thinking the same thing….they pushed the hell out of her, so much so that I kept asking Who is this chick that they keep shoving her in my face??? a year later she’s still being shoved in my face and I was still asking, who is she again???…. and here we are again…WHO IS RITA ORA???

I think TgJ calls her a “household name” and “superstar” on purpose as a bait for people to shade her. They lowkey don’t like her, that’s the only logical reason why they would call her these things when she clearly isn’t.

she seems like a trend-hopper, imo.

i can’t name a song from her even though she’s been out for a while now. i’m sure i’ve heard some, but they didn’t sound particularly memorable or interesting, tbh…
