Teyana Taylor is finally gearing up to unleash ‘The Album’ on June 22nd.
The aptly titled set serves as the singer’s sophomore album and is her first body of work since her 2013 debut ‘VII.’
Controversial Kanye West sits as the project’s executive producer and announced the album as part of his June G.O.O.D Music takeover – a slate which includes two releases of his own.
As Taylor’s date draws nearer, she’s cranking up the hype machine.

Taking to Instagram today, the 27-year-old shared a clip of herself singing a track from the album acapella:

Expectations are high for Mrs Shumpert.
Her talent is undeniable, neither is her buzz.
She’s been on quite the roll since ‘Fade’ thrust her back into the spotlight in a major way in 2016.
Now it’s show and prove time. TGJ insiders have heard roughly half of the album and feedback thus far has been positive.
Our sole hope is that she’s prepping a roll-out befitting of her buzz. Just dropping, ala her G.O.O.D Music comrade Pusha T, won’t cut it.

So the album is LESS than a month away and we still don’t have a single yet? She said her last album didn’t do well LAST TIME because she had no promotional push from the label and now it looks like they are doing it again. Why do her like this?!?! She needs to start releasing one song every week til the album comes out and needs to do a few late night talk show appearances. She’s talented with great music but this album is going to do worse than the first one if she doesn’t do something fast!!!!
I would’ve paid for it on iTunes but most likely I’ll just download it for free. You can thank Kanye for that.

Hopefully her roll-out is based on talent, not trickery like this PushaT/Drake thing. Teyana has been hustling for awhile and deserves more success. Live performances, maybe some solid features and great videos should be the plan…we shall see but Im not optimistic.
