Fans of The Carters found themselves swimming in a sea of confusion hours ago when it was reported that their collaborative album ‘Everything is Love‘ was to sell under 200,000 units in its opening week.
Troubling, considering the figures the pair have pulled in via pure sales with their respective solo efforts.

The reputable website HITS Daily Double reported that the set would move under 72,000 units via pure sales and around 125,000 copies once streams were factored in but have now retracted this figure.
Why?
Because of the uncertainty surrounding so many of the numbers connected to this title, we’re going to wait until tomorrow to update our total.The wild card in that contest is what Tidal will report.
TIDAL is the streaming service Jay-Z owns and held the album exclusively for a few hours before its unveiling on rival platforms Spotify & Apple Music and holds what many hope is the monstrously large missing piece of the project’s sales puzzle.

Obviously those numbers were off. Keep in mind HDD predicted self titled would only sell 80k it’s first week. Come to find out that was just the first few hours of sales. And they continued to have to revise their predictions multiple times before it came to the 600k she actually sold.
And this is not just a Beyoncé thing. HDD often gets it wrong. They’ve revised other artist sales multiple times as well.
I see Tidal is about to pull out those fake numbers again. No honor whatsoever.
