With the advent of the internet, new artists are empowering themselves without the muscle of the machine.
Case in point Queen Naija.
Having built an online presence as a popular YouTube personality, the 22-year-old Detroit native has pivoted and is delving deeper into music.
She established early buzz with recent hit ‘Medicine’ and now, as at writing, is #1 on iTunes with follow-up ‘Karma.’
Wonder what the hype is about? Listen below…
A smooth slice of nutritious R&B, ‘Karma’ is evocative of the genre’s golden age.
It doesn’t reach for theatrics vocally or from a production standpoint — and there’s a beauty in its simplicity.
Still, the cut boasts great layers of harmony and understated adlibs which add sprinkles of sweetness.
Rich, creamy, and delicious, we have this on replay. Do you?
Y’all boosting a trick who don’t even like ya gay asses.
a number 1 on itunes can be bought on various websites even streaming can be bought as the labels pay and put their artists on all the playlists. then they get the money back & profit in royalities
she is not black she is not brown.
we r not interested bring us a dark skin girl or be gone…goodnight
I doubt anybody bought a thing for her. Idk if you follow her but the girl has a strong following. Not just a little 30,000 or 100,000 people actually following her. But IN the millions. Plus the way she is set up, (for NOW hopefully) her team is on a strict budget. Lol. Not to play my girl but they are. If you don’t know, look her up.
im seeing her on shaderoom n they post her all the time n that shee aint free just saying
I LOOOOOVE this girl! She has SOOOO much potential! To really be GREAT! Been a fan since #Queen&Chris. Smooth rooted R&B. I wish her team would go harder though.
Bring on that EP next month #Queen! I’m salivating over here!!!
She sounds like Letoya Luckett.
I’m listening now. It’s kinda basic on first listen but good for R&B music topping charts. Good for the culture but she hasn’t proved me quite yet to be the best or most unique star.
She sounds good ??
