‘Whatever she does, everyone else follows’ – a comment lent by the Queen Bey herself in reference to the Queen of Pop Madonna.
The two music royals have made no secret of their mutual respect for each other over the years, but it appears the latter may have been a bit too presumptuous with the extent of said respect when she took to Instagram to upload a photoshopped image of Beyonce and Jay Z from their most recent ‘Apeshi*t’ music video.
In the real image the husband-and-wife team are admiring some of the centuries old art exhibits featured in the world famous Parisian museum The Louvre, but in the edited image they are instead admiring Madge’s (legendary) albums. With a caption that read ‘learning from the master,’ her suggestion set off a firestorm of ongoing controversy that has left the ‘Like a Prayer’ performer in need of just that.

Beyonce has learned from many people very obviously, including Madonna. At first with Destiny´s Child she clearly was trying to emulate Janet in one front and then on the other Mariah and Whitney vocally (she wishes, but you know what I mean). Then when she went solo she totally went for the Tina Turner image. And later on, after many years of being critizised for releasing bland music, or at least not special enough, she started to try to innovate, with her current way of releasing albums and all that, which is more a Madonna type of field.
I think you’re right with DC, also u can tell she was influenced by Monica, Aaliyah, Brandy, Coko and some of the 90s girls with the earlier albums specifically vocally.
Everything that women you mentioned did had been done before them. Madonna brought nothing new to table (Cher, Diana Ross, Monroe and Donna Summer did), the same goes for Whitney, Mariah and Celine (Aretha, Barbra. Patti did).
