Predictions Are In: Kanye West & Kid Cudi’s ‘Kids See Ghosts’ Set To Sell…

Published: Monday 11th Jun 2018 by Rashad

Thanks to his latest album, ‘Ye,’ rapper Kanye West is currently reigning over the Billboard 200 by his lonesome (click here to read more).  The critically acclaimed LP (released June 1) followed Pusha T‘s ‘Daytona’ as the second of five promised projects from the hitmaker’s hands (as artist or producer).

Now, with both releases making their mark on album charts, June 8th brought with it the unveiling of the third of the five sets – ‘Kids See Ghosts.’  A collaborative effort from West and Kid Cudi, the long-awaited opus came out swinging from the moment it hit shelves but faces tough competition from the likes of veteran rockers The Dave Matthews Band.

After three days of availability industry analysts have begun wielding predictions on how ‘Kids’ will fare by the end of its first tracking week.  Is West set to nab his 9th consecutive chart-topper?  See the numbers inside and find out:

Kids See Ghosts (G.O.O.D Music/Def Jam)

Predicted First Week Sales:  115-125k (SPS), 60-65k (Pure)

Predicted Debut Chart Position:  #2

With the figures above, if proven true, West’s 13-year #1’s streak comes to an end (technically).  Among his overall discography – including ‘Watch the Throne,’ his joint album with Jay Z – Kanye’s nabbed eight consecutive chart-toppers.  By his lonesome, his discography’s only album that failed to reach the top spot in the United States was 2004’s  ‘College Dropout,’ his debut album.  For all intents and purposes, his solo streak is still intact.

Note:  As of time reported, The Dave Matthews Band is on track to sell more than double West and Cudi’s predicted sales. [source]

The Dave Matthews Band?? How?! I’m sure it’s a ticket-bundle but still. I had no idea they were making albums anymore.

Why are you assuming that there is some sort of bundle? Just because you personally had no idea that they were still making music doesn’t mean that they don’t still have a strong fanbase. Glad to see real music prevail for once.

I look forward to the end of Kanye
