After thrilling fans with ‘Flower of the Universe,’ her surprise inclusion in the official ‘Wrinkle in Time’ soundtrack, soul icon Sade is reportedly putting the finishing touches on her long-awaited new album.
It’s been over 8 years since the singer’s fans marched to music stores to purchase her latest album, ‘Soldier of Love,’ but if word from her longtime collaborator, Stuart Matthewman, is anything to judge by, they’ll have the chance to do it again sooner than later.
Read his words inside:
Taking to our friends at RatedRnB, Matthewman stated:
“We’re working on a new album,” Matthewman said in an interview with Rated R&B, adding that Sade and their creative team have “a bunch of songs. When we’re happy, then we’ll let everyone else hear it,” he said.
“The record company knows there’s no point in nagging us or giving us deadlines. It doesn’t really help the process,” he says.
While other artists are content with releasing music more frequently to remain in the limelight, Matthewman says, “[Sade’s] not interested in the fame or any of that [other] stuff. She likes to put out art. So when it’s ready, it will come out.”
The confirmation that Miss Adu is actively at work on a new project is reason alone for us to get excited. The ‘Wrinkle in Time’ drop was certainly enough to tease, but now fans – us at That Grape Juice included – are ready for the full course.
