We all knew Peasant was gonna be disappointing, so I’ll address the big problem that has been affecting female rap albums for close to two decades now! The case of the sloppy female rap album lol ? As much as I love Lil Kim, she actually pioneered the modern sloppy female rap album with The Notorious K.I.M…shoddy production from no name producers who can work overtime for little to no coin, no name rappers who are usually employed as co-writers, bloated tracklistings that usually go a good 5 songs too long, weird choruses and hooks, weird song titles that have little to no commercial appeal, glossy pictures usually done by high fashion and commercial photographers that make you think the album is up to par…shall I go on? Cardi turned in one of the tightest female rap albums I’ve heard in FAR too long…but even she can easily fall victim to some of the same problems I just listed if she doesn’t stay on top of her game! The production should match and have a certain endearing quality to it…a FEMALE quality, but still appeal to everyone…go listen to Salt N Pepa’s work, Missy’s work, Lauryn’s (one) work, Lil Kim and Foxy’s debuts, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte and now Cardi’s debut to see what I mean! I’m sorry, but Nicki been shoddy from jumpstreet chile! No classic in sight! Let’s talk about it lol ???
Yet, you have a whole paragraph about what’s wrong with it. If you knew it was going to be bad and you don’t like her music why bother to listen. I like Nicki but this album will have to grow on me. With that neing said most songs I like had to grow on me. However, you obviously don’t like her at all so you came here with a bias opinion.

I was listening to Kim back in the day as well. I never said Nicki’s Barbie Dreams was fire or anything. However, it wasn’t one of my favorite songs by Kim either. I haven’t been up on Kim music lately but I use to listen to Kim up until the early to mid 2000’s. Also, I like Nicki but there’s quite a few songs by Kim and Nicki I don’t like. There’s not any artist on this earth that I like every song they ever made.

She needs a new team ASAP. I was expecting this to be a complete disaster, but I’m shocked it’s not. It’s not as good as Pinkprint but she has some bangers on here. Barbie Dreams and Good Form specially. I can’t believe she put out all those trash ass singles and she had some good stuff on here. I do think Majesty and Thought I Knew You she is outclassed by the features. But this is a pretty decent 7/10 which is shocking. I was expecting a dumpster fire. Whoever chose those singles….phew they need to go.
