Cardi B’s ‘Invasion of Privacy’ is on its way to reclaiming a spot on the iTunes Albums Chart’s Top 20.
Good news for fans who feared the album would struggle to make waves via pure sales below…
The club-friendly album was unleashed on April 5th 2018 and peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 thanks to streams she lifted from the streaming giant Spotify.
This week, it seems the entertainer’s fans are just as keen to support her on iTunes and have purchased enough copies to push the album back into the Top 30.
Promising, as the set sat outside of the Top 40 weeks ago but is now currently outselling Ed Sheeran‘s latest body of work and on its way to outperforming Iggy Azalea‘s ‘Survive the Summer’ which is now on its way out of the Top 40 days after its unveiling.
The highest selling project at the moment? Travis Scott‘s ‘Astroworld.’

You say that but can you explain why a five month old album is about to outsell an EP that’s only a week or so old? Iggy can’t compete with Madame Spotify because she never had a big fan base to begin with which is why that arena tour she wanted to do didn’t happen. Cardi on the other hand was born on the internet so it makes sense that she depends on streams. Nicki has sold too many pure albums for them to REALLY threaten her records.

Also, she didn’t release a physical version, which would have boosted sales a lot more. Drake would have easily sold 300-400k with a physical album release in it’s first week. The physical album was released later. Streaming just isn’t the same, no matter how they try to prop it up.
This is why I’m excited to see which artist will switch it up, with the strongest album campaign and force ppl to buy the Physical or Digital and not put it on Any Streaming platform except Tidal
