Nearly four months after tapping sisters Toni, Towanda, and Trina to assist on ‘Broken Things’ – a critically acclaimed gem lifted from her August due sophomore set – Traci Braxton returns by her lonesome with another offering from the LP entitled ‘Lifeline.’
Penned by Nye the Songwrita & Mariam Aquarium, with production helmed by Dave Lindsey, the emotional cut comes as an ode to the man in Braxton’s life.
“Secure and safe / And what you do reciprocate / Protect me from tidal waves / And anything that comes my way,” she belts. “Knight in shining armor you / And anything you say I will do it / And I will never face no type of danger here with you baby.”
Before you tune into ‘Braxton Family Values’ to see the behind the scenes action of the creation of this song and its parent album, tuck in below for your first full listen to ‘Lifeline’:
Will the tune live up to its title and be just that for Braxton’s second swing at the bat? Tell us:
This song is a bop!!! ❤️
Can Tamar or Toni sing this instead? This girl has like no vocal range.
Who? Sorry not In a beyonce and Rihanna world
this is cute
I like Traci’s personality but she just doesn’t have the pipes to be a successful solo artist. At least not a mainstream artist. Maybe she should try gospel. This song is also poorly produced. Its almost sounds unfinished.
She’s the Jacky Clark-chisholm of the Braxtons. Y’all sleep on her.
I am fully awake Traci is not a great solo artist….
She always seems to let production ruin her songs…Last call sounded great before she let production auto tune the hell out of it…I dont understand why production keeps messing with her vocals…
She can’t sing that’s why
I’ve always thought she was a great singer!!
Safe.. At least it got some kind of concept. Most songs are singing about nothing.
I like the song!
she could have sang it more soulfully
