Nicki Minaj’s ‘Queen’ #1 on iTunes As 6ix9ine Duet ‘Fefe’ Certified Platinum

Published: Sunday 12th Aug 2018 by Rashad

Nicki Minaj‘s ‘Queen’ has reigned over the iTunes charts since its unexpected release on Friday (August 10).

Storming the digital charts shortly after its release (unseating Jason Mraz‘s ‘Know’ in the process), the album has held a tight grip atop the U.S. sales tally well over the weekend – a feat that shows no signs of slowing over the course of its inaugural tracking week (as of time reported).  Even the rap diva herself took to Instagram to report the project had become the first female rap album to simultaneously hit #1 on the sales tallies of 81 different countries (click here to see that).

And, as if that’s not enough to celebrate, Minaj recently learned ‘Fefe’ –  her controversial collaboration with rapper 6ix9ine – has crossed the platinum threshold just less than two weeks after it hit Gold.

Congratz are certainly in order for the duo, who could very well be on their way to their first respective runs at #1 on the H0t 100 thanks to the success of the song.  Currently sitting at #1 on Youtube’s music video chart (as of time reported), the tune’s also drawn in quite the handsome combo of streaming and digital sales.

After a #5 debut and rise to #3 the week after that (where it currently sits), it will be something to see if ‘Fefe’ can be the song that boots Drake‘s massive hit, ‘In My Feelings,’ from the top spot.

I hope in all honesty the album performs well. This album was very much needed for her and her career in the eyes of many. Congrats Nic

Rasputia is still twerking to Chung Li. That song is a hit and goes hard no matter what anybody says. The clubs play that song too. Radio needs to support her more. Tired of the same old ish on the radio all the time.

The album is pure bubblegum pop trash for 12 year olds

    • Jay August 13, 2018

What album did you listen to? It couldn’t have been Queen. There’s nothing bubblegum pop about that album. You must be referring to Roman Reloaded.

I give this album a 3 out of 19. Because that’s what she gave us 3 bops out of 19 songs. The album didn’t flow. Her main concern was throwing shade. The name of the album should have been Shady Queen, not Queen. When Iggy’s album goes harder than yours, it’s a problem.

    • Beam Me Up Scotty August 12, 2018

“Barbie Dreams” and “Majesty” went harder than Iggy’s entire discography…

      • KillMonger Was Right (Tyler) August 12, 2018

Album was rubbish. Her flows are now boring and repetitive and all she seems to care about is getting her v***** busted wide open and mentioning how greater she is than cardi.
She also deliberately used foxy brown because foxys verse was drier than a old mans ball sack.
        I’m done for now

    • Beam Me Up Scotty August 13, 2018

“Jealousy is a disease, die slow”

    • Cici August 13, 2018

The fact that you mentioned Iggy and better than her in the same sentence says a lot about your music taste so you obviously won’t like real hip hop/Rap music because you clearly don’t listen to it…still wondering the f*** you doing here

    • Ricko August 13, 2018

Agreed.. Iggy ep definitely felt like a mini album with a concept and good direction.. Onika Is just lost.

    • Cici August 13, 2018

  6. Keira August 13, 2018

I wasn’t rooting for nicki at all but damn, her album been on repeat! As much I hated tekashi69, I’ve been bumping FEFE whole weekend ?

  7. blaah August 13, 2018

Oh wow so Nicki stole barz from underground rapper Kiara Simone. Peep her “How to Rob” video on YouTube. A whole FRAUD!

    • Beam Me Up Scotty August 13, 2018

You’re full of s***. The bars are nothing alike.

Kiara:”50 got power but I stole his s*** , to show him how to really rob on some industry s***”…..

Nicki: “I tried to f*** 50 for a powerful hour, but all he wanted to do was talk power for hours”..

      • Jay August 13, 2018

I was JUST about to post the same s***. Thank you for being educational towards idiots.

I thought you guys are into timeless music?

  9. Sweetnothings78 August 13, 2018

Everyone’s comments make me laugh. 3 facts 1) she’s number one in multiple countries 2) she’s just broke another femal rap record and 3) she’s laughing all the way to the bank.

None of us are execs in the music world. Well done to her, Kim with nasty, iggys new project and Cardis start up success. All round female rappers are having more of them time. People should be celebrating not berating. Empathy and compassion for people success continues to drown the positivity.

    • Caleb August 13, 2018

2018 is the year of the female rapper.

  10. BootzShza August 13, 2018

Honestly I thought this album was fire after listening to it for the 3rd time. This is coming from someone who grew up listening to Foxy and Kim. But after a while I grew tired of it. Don’t get me wrong, some of her tracks are bops, give credit where it’s due. The problem is I can’t see it as a classic. You know how you watch a movie by some unknown director, the movie is good enough where it holds your attention, you’re curious, it was damn entertaining to watch, but after it ends it doesn’t linger in your thoughts for too long. Then within a few weeks you’ve already forgotten about it (Ie some of the Liam Neeson flicks – Unknown, Non-Stop, Run All Night, A Walk Among the Tombstones). That’s how I felt with this album. It was dope, her bars, precision and cadence, how she rode the beat, but just because you rap fast doesn’t make you the best. Back then Da Brat was rapping faster than any female out at that time but she wasn’t considered “the best.” No! Let me tell you, I was bumping Hardcore in my car the other day, I knew all of the lyrics to practically most of the songs, it had a timeless quality to it. Like I was really bopping and feeling myself in that car! 22 years later after it was released! Unfortunately, I don’t know if I’ll be doing that to this album. But good job on releasing a great body of work. I just couldn’t find a single track that would even be an Ill NaNa Get Me Home timeless kinda vibe. That said I just might forget about this album by next week.

    • Jay August 13, 2018

      Sounds like a personal problem.

      • Cici August 13, 2018

Thank you Jay!..cause I was about to say the same

  11. IMIND August 13, 2018

The album is just like the previous one there’s just 10 good tracks and the rest is forgettable. Sorry Nicki but you will never have a classic album this way.

Also, real Queens don’t auto-claim themselves, it’s the fans and the professionnals that give you the title and that’s the biggest difference between Nicki and Kim.

Ganja Burns is nice, probably the only track I fell in love with next to Chun-Li.

    • Jay August 13, 2018

Professionals have given her that title.

  12. iamme August 13, 2018

SHE SHUT UP ALL THE HATERS..!! SHE DID WHAT SHE WAS SUPPOSES TO DO!

  13. Lou-Andrew Rodriguez August 13, 2018

Congrats Nicki. The album is pretty solid.
She needs to release a video for Barbie Dreams though as it’s projected to premiere in the top 5 on the Hot 100.
