When Nicki Minaj and Cardi B‘s latest duel flew off the Richter, it saw the ladies of Little Mix looped into the melee.
Indeed, as reported, in lashing Onika, Cardi claimed that she was actually the group’s first choice for a feature on their current single ‘Woman Like Me’ – not Nicki. She went as far as to play a clip of the reference track that was sent to her to write to.
The jaw-dropping allegation saw many of Nicki’s Barbz hit out at the Pop quad.
However, they’ve taken to social media to clear things up…

Song still a bubbling under flop
They’re the most successful girl group in the world at the moment. People in the US need to pull their heads out of their asses. The rest of the world is more important. They’re killing it in the UK, Europe, Japan, Australia etc. Combined, those markets are 6 times bigger than the US. So what if they’re not charting in the US, they’re still nabbing collaborations with some of today’s biggest starts (Nicki, Ed Sheeran, Jess Glynn), they’ve had four successful world tours, they’re on album number 5 and like I said, most successful girl group at the moment.

No offense, as I’m not a fan of Nicki or Cardi, and your point about the music world being bigger than just the US is a big one, but you’re incorrect about the biggest girl group in the world. For the past 11 years until now it’s a South Korean k-pop group, Girls’ Generation, actually. They have some of the top-grossing tours of all-time, with FAR fewer dates than any Western acts and if you include YouTube views and streaming, they are the #2 female group or solo artist of all-time too. I don’t know if you’d like them or not, but you might want to give them a listen if you’d in the mood fo something different. Enjoy Little Mix either way though! 🙂

Probably the label wanted Cardi but she turned down the song, They knew Nicki would likely do it since she will hop on any song whether it is good or not (even though she shaded Little Mix by claiming none of their songs were good enough for her to record a verse for until Women Like Me).

These Mixers are on a whole new level of delusion. Their last two albums spent 2-3 weeks charting in France, Germany and Italy. They’ve never had a top 40 hit in those countries. In Japan and South Korea, they’ve never had a certified album and on their last tour there were playing in venues the size of nightclubs. But yet they are killing it everywhere outside the USA
The delusion is too real. They can sing, but their music is cheesy and juvenile. A feature from Cardi would’ve been a good look for them. Nicki would have done them some good… five years ago.

Cardi didn’t go Rita Ora any good with “Girls” so why would it be any different with Little Mix. The point is that no matter who was featured the song would’ve tanked here because there aren’t enough fans in the US.

If this were true that they CHOSE Nicki over Cardi then they would’ve had to have had verses sent back to them from both rappers to choose from. As Cardi did not send them back a verse she obviously wasn’t interested. Therefore the choice was made for them.
