Rita Ora Makes UK Chart History / Scores Most Top 10 Entries By A British Female

Published: Saturday 6th Oct 2018 by Sam

Rita Ora continues to wrack up accolades.

Currently riding high on European shores with newest number ‘Let Me Love You,’ the song just gifted the singer a major win on the Official UK Singles Chart.

Full story below…

With the moody groove climbing to #6 on this week’s tally, the cut becomes Rita’s 13th top 10.

The feat sees her set a new UK chart record for the most Top 10 singles by a British female act; in doing so, she blazes past legends Shirley Bassey and Petula Clark (who each have 12).

Speaking to Official Charts about the win, the 27-year-old gushed:

“I’m so grateful and honoured – this is insane! I can’t put into words what this means to me! I really appreciate everyone’s support. I’m really proud of the journey that the making of Phoenix has taken me on. To my fans, thank you for your patience and thank you always for listening. I wouldn’t be here without you, and I promise to keep giving you all my best.”

Remarkably, several of the top 10 placements occurred over the last year. Case in point:

‘Your Song'(#7), ‘Lonely Together’ (alongside Avicii, #4), ‘Anywhere’ (#2), and ‘For You (ft. Liam Payne)’ (#8).

Suffice to say, this all serves as a huge touchdown for Ora heading into the release window of her long-awaited sophomore album ‘Phoenix’ – which arrives via Atlantic on November 23rd.

Wow. Okay making music history. I might have to take a listen to here more than ever now.

Are you that easily influenced? “Accolades” make you interested in an artist.

      • Maggie October 6, 2018

No. I just recently started listening to her music and she is good in voice and songwriting than many other popular artists who don’t have a bit of such talent. So yes the accolades as you put it affirm my perception about her.

Ha ha and the little nasty keyboard warriors on here we’re slaying her.

I’ll say it again. She’s not as trashy as common and trashy as Minaj and Cardi and as much as I like the latter it makes a refreshing change to NOT have rap dominating everything as the quality of the rap has dropped!

Good on her and we should ALL in the UK be cheering our own on and not belittling behind a keyboard!

My thoughts exactly she sounds a lot better then most of the singers that are from the USA…?

        This is very true.

So just because she’s from the UK, British people should be supporting her? What nonsense

Slight problem – she’s not actually British. She’s from Kosovo.
