Tinashe Sets 2019 Release For New Album

Published: Friday 12th Oct 2018 by Sam

Tinashe‘s sophomore album ‘Joyride’ may have been certified tin foil, but that isn’t halting her hustle. Quite the contrary.

Because, she’s revealed that her third studio project is presently set for release in 2019.

Details below…

The confirmation came courtesy of the singer herself during a sit-down interview on Larry King Now.

On hand to plug her current stint on Dancing With The Stars, the 25-year-old says she had been working “pretty much everyday” on the as yet untitled set.

Reflecting on the muddy mess that was the lead-up to ‘Joyride,’ she says that album – which finally arrived this year – was marred by “expectations” and “discrepancies with [the] label.”

Peep the segment…

Hmm.

We’ve long loved Tinashe’s work ethic. The good sis hustles like no other, a trait that – despite all the set-backs – serves her well.

The central issue she’s tasked with addressing veers far beyond label discrepancies or “expectations.” She has yet to successfully establish an artistic identity.

In the last few years alone, she’s served Pop Nashe, Trap Nashe, Siren Nashe, Tomboy Nashe. It’s like, will the real Tinashe please stand up!

She’s made many a mention of not wanting to be boxed, but the frank reality is that before having the luxury of being all things to all people, she has to have a core proposition that is digestable to the masses.

Drawing on big name examples, Rihanna firmly rooted herself as a Pop girl before playing with darker sounds. Similarly, Beyonce has always made Urban the core of her content – even when veering on to more mainstream terrain.

When Tinashe manages to do the same (see: establish a lane), she’ll be able to reap the fruits of her undeniable hard work.

Maybe it’ll be third time lucky?

No one’s checking for this girl other than a few blogs and tumblr Gays.

Go back to Urban and pick up from 2on and all hands on deck (ish) and start again.

I went to see her and Jesus she has some serious energy and lungs on her.

I agree… … idk why some artist TRY to drift away from it (Ciara) but for some, urban IS their lane. She BLEW up off of it with 2on. She should have stayed true for at least her first 3 albums and then slowly gave us a little something different smh. But she just went full out dipping in EVERYTHING. Too soon..

      ..

Also, the good urban hits she did let off. She didn’t even try to push em… she just released them to see what they’d do. That’s not good promo at all. So many mistakes, I can type away.. but I am looking forward still. She’s still a gem to me.

She is talented and Joyride was robbed of real support since it was pushed back more than once. Listen to the album and you’ll enjoy it.

    I have to laugh.

She‘s boring and will never be on a real popstar level. You can say what you want, but you knew Rihanna right from the start. Her voice is unique, her looks are unique and she has great charisma. Tinashe is just your talented girl from the neighborhood. Nice to look at, you like to hear her song that one song at the school event, but that’s it. She is, sorry to say that, nothing special

Tin Foil …coming from a blog that talks about supporting artists – joke.

    She makes great music, period.

  8. Whoops ???‍♀️?? October 12, 2018

She and Iggy are professional flops at this point. Que the “this is her time!”, “she’s coming”, “it’s the labels fault” comments of delusion for the umpteenth time from her 2 fans. Along with her constant claims of reverse colorism, which does not exist, being the reason why people don’t like her.

WELL she’s selling to some folks, I purchased a few of her singles..??‍♂️

If Ella mai can get a hit with boo’d up and trip then Tinashe sure can too.

    • John L. Anderson V October 13, 2018

But Ella mai stuck to her core RnB sound at least for this album. Her image is consistent

I’ll wait to hear the single before I judge, but something is missing from the recent material. I just hope she doesn’t try to do whatever everybody else is doing.

She should be able to sue for the amount of shade you threw in this article lol

    Chile, who?

I know you guys support her but to say she doesn’t have an “artistic sound” just makes you not knowledgeable on who she was before signing to a label.

Her core fanbase knows that her mixtapes (Im really tired of plugging btw) is her sound which is Alternative moody R&B. She never use to do high tempo songs until signing to RCA (which is not a problem).

Just the fact that she isn’t paired with anyone in the industry to get her name to be solid on ppl’s mind is the problem. We live in a bandwagon era where people like someone’s music because another popular respected artist does.

You guys are literally trying to box in this girl musically…her music was always dark alt R&B mixed with a bit mainstream R&B ?! And stop comparing her to Rihanna and Bey they aren’t in the same league

  16. Slave4u October 12, 2018

In a industry where talent no longer exists, I’m rooting for Tinashe! she has the work ethic & skill !

    • Liam October 13, 2018

I agree and when she’s on stage the girl shows out and gives the full package.
