Janet Jackson took centre-stage at the 2018 MTV Europe Awards in Bilbao, Spain moments ago.
Backed by an army of dancers, the Pop queen – who took home the Global Icon award – delivered a dynamic performance comprised of new single ‘Made For Now’ and classics ‘All For You’ and ‘Rhythm Nation.’

The outfit was a “choice” and kinda-sorta took away from the choreography, but there’s little to complain about when considering that she’s 52 and outperforming many half her age.

Janet was covered up during the “Control”, “Rhythm Nation” and at multiple periods of The Velvet Rope period. Stop acting like Janet was always just s*** when she was young, she wasn’t- she was versatile whether cover up in a full 3 piece suit with turtle neck and gloves (Rhythm Nation era) or when she had a string bikini top with jeans(All For you era). She does it all and has been that way since she was 19 in a suit (control era)

Janet killed it!!! Hated the outfit but loved her performance and acceptance speech. She seems so comfortable in her own skin at this point in her life. I also love that she is speaking from the heart on what she’s been through in the industry.
Kudos to Janet and the team for another solid performance! I liked the medley arrangement and the costuming for the dancers. Hopefully she will keep some of those elements for any European dates….

I still can’t get over the “Throb” medley she performed at that other awards show this year. This MTV performance isn’t as good, but still fun to watch. Wardrobe and style still need a little work though; it was not a flattering look Sunday night.
