K. Michelle Signs New Record Deal / Releases Song ‘Save Me’

Published: Tuesday 20th Nov 2018 by Sam

K. Michelle is moving on to pastures new.

The R&B songbird nested at Atlantic Records upon finding favor on ‘Love & Hip-Hop.’

However, she’s now spreading her wings to a new musical home.

Details below…

It’s been confirmed that the soul-filled singer is now signed to leading indie label eOne and will be releasing her premiere album for the imprint in 2019. It’ll mark her first body of work since 2017’s ‘Kimberly: The People I Used To Know.’

To whet appetites for the set, she’s unwrapped a new song named ‘Save Me.’

Take a listen…

We like.

‘Save Me’ boasts a strong melody and stripped back production that allows her voice to shine luminously. The background vocals and use of stacking (them) worked to great effect too.

Lyrically, K has always had a way with her pen and she demonstrates that in earnest here.

All in all, a wholly solid effort and one that has us eager to hear what’s on the horizon.

eOne is a graveyard for R&B has-beens, but K. Michelle is very talented as whacky as she may be. Save Me is a nice song…

True about eOne, but I am glad it exists. It hasn’t even been 10 years since it’s been viable for indie artists to promote themselves and make money w/o a label. K. Michelle is known enough that the right track could do some damage, but they key phrase is “right track.”

I thought Kim said no more music for her

I love K. Michelle’s voice. Glad she is making moves, now give us that music girl! Save me has a nice melody, but I need her to come with a nice feel good R&B bob song during this holiday season.

As long as she’s not trying to do that country music nonsense she was talking before, i’m cool with it.

She could actually be a great country artist, but they seem to have an issue with black female artists. ??‍♂️
