Ariana Grande is capping off a roller coaster year with colossal success.
The vocal sensation’s new single ‘Thank U, Next’ saw her crowned with her first #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 – a spot she’s occupied for the last three weeks.
Now the arrival of its movie-themed video sees the songstress set to extend her reign.
Because the visual – which salutes teen flicks such as ‘Bring It On,’ ‘Legally Blonde,’ and ‘Mean Girls’ – is breaking streaming records.
It’s been confirmed that the clip for ‘Thank U, Next’ has bulldozed a VEVO 24-hour record after racking up over 50 million views in less than a day.
JP Evangelista, VEVO’s Head Of Content, Programming & Marketing said in a statement:
“It’s with great pleasure that we announce that Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” has broken the Vevo 24 hour view-count record.
This video continues a string of immensely creative visual work that Ariana has released on our platform this year. Each video has been meticulously crafted and has had a brilliant lead up campaign. Ariana and Hannah Lux Davis’ entertaining work now joins the ranks of some of our most successful videos of all time. We congratulate Ariana and the Republic family on this massive success.”
Deserved! Congrats Ari!
