Wealth and chart wins are spread generously across the music industry, but true impact remains exclusive to a limited a few.
For decades, Beyonce has occupied a spot in the coveted club – a fact Forbes says is more accurate than ever in 2018.
Details below…
With the year fast drawing to an end, the publication has unveiled their list of the Most Powerful Women In Entertainment.
On the ranking, Queen Bey is named in the #6 spot – the highest of any of the female musicians listed. Indeed, the tally – which also includes moguls and execs such as Oprah Winfrey and Ariana Huffington, only features one other singer, Taylor Swift.
Reasons cited for Mrs Carter’s placement include her colossal Coachella set and the power she wielded to recruit the first African-American photographer in Vogue‘s 126-year history to shoot her September cover.

Wow that’s apart of her resume!! Work work work work!! ?”Bzzz”?
Not a big fan, but I love that she feels comfortable enough to embrace her Blackness and has White people shook.
Congrats Beyonce and Oprah. Love you both ladies. Keep slaying and being role models for our children!
Of course lol. Long live the Queen!
Doesn’t a musician play music? She is a musical artist but she doesn’t play an instrument so this is inaccurate
A singer’s voice is her instrument. Also, remember this is Forbe’s Media and Entertainment’s Most Powerful Women List. Don’t be fooled by TGJ’s gossip queen spin on their posts. They steal articles from other sites and put a gossip queen spin to it which too often strays too far from what is REAL and important. Oprah is still number 1 followed by 4 other women in film and television media. Thus, the real point of Forbe’s article is that success is to be found in film and television more than music. The words of this article are meant to bait gay male Beyonce fans into arguing with gay male fans of other artists like Taylor Swift. How childish!!!!!!!
More overhype bullsh*t. She’s not even in the top 5. Make a post when she becomes the biggest SELLING musician on any list, we all know her album sales are laughable.
I‘m sorry, but not everyone else was living under that rock with you. Did she open with 45k? Beyoncé’s PHYSICAL album sales are doing just fine – I don’t need her to do Adele numbers to sleep at night (like you clearly do) I just enjoy the bodies of work she turns in and carry on with my life. Clearly you are a closeted fan and should take notes and do the same.
To think that her best selling album is her first, just 4x plat. in 2003, even at that moment, she couldn’t reach diamond sales, with all the hype, the PR, radio overplaying her music, they weren’t slick with the radio deals.
What is she lacking, if she is slaying, killing careers, why can’t she have smash hits and diamond sales at the same time. like others did, always her PR game on point, but always being outsold by someone else. Why people can’t see it and buy her albums, so she cant seat at the same table whit the diamond certified album sellers.
Truly the definition of talk big and people will think you are big.
