‘Buy a Heart’: Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill Duet Earns Half A Million Dollars

Though short-lived, Nicki Minaj‘s union with Meek Mill continues to bear salubrious fruit for the rappers commercially.

Good news below…

The entertainers teamed up to write and record the song ‘Buy a Heart’ for Minaj’s multi-platinum album ‘The Pinkprint‘ and stand as one of the set’s more well-received efforts.

Four years later, it has reached a grand earnings milestone.

With 32 million streams generated by fans on Spotify, the ethereal release has earned $128,000 on that platform while earnings (picked up on YouTube, Apple Music, Deezer and the like) that fly north of $480,000 marker see it surpass a figure of $500,000.

An epic feat for an album track.

The highest earner on that album? ‘Anaconda‘, with $856,000 amassed on Spotify alone.

That mammoth number is split six ways between Minaj (its primary writer) and five other producers.

This is the song that k Michelle said Nicki took from her.

    • Tori December 30, 2018

She did. When K announced her album by the same name and the trailer, the song was played in the video and then It was gone till Nicki released her version.

Nicki didn’t take it from her. It was Meek Mill song, he wrote it and took it from K. Michelle and gave it to Nicki who was his girlfriend at the time. The song was perfect for them two since they were in a relationship. No contract was signed so he had every right to do what he wanted with the track. And I believe Meek said in an interview a long time ago K. Michelle wasn’t the only other artist in the running who wanted this track (excluding nicki). The song is still a banger to this day!

so streaming matters today and today its ok for a female rapper to have numerous writers on a track even tho the claim is she writes for herself. and i know ppl gonna give excuses buuut how can u say who writes and who doesn’t when none of them are the only writers on the credits? nobody knows how much anyone writes on their music unless u see the process. just like u dont write a freestyle

Nicki has always said that she gives all her producers who work with her writing credits as well. That’s why they are always listed in both sections. More money for them!
