When combined, Ella Mai‘s singles ‘Boo’d Up’ and ‘Trip’ are generating around $200,000 a week in the United States alone.
This hasn’t gone unnoticed by the music publisher Sony ATV who have now handed the performer a gargantuan advance in exchange for her shares on the tracks she writes for herself and others.

Ella, who is of Jamaican and Irish descent, stood at the heart of an intense bidding war launched by music publishers keen to secure the publishing rights to her songs.
She chose ATV (home to some of the world’s biggest writers) and secured one of the year’s largest deals thanks to fans who boosted her commercial stock by purchasing, praising and covering her soulful tracks.
