Spending most of 2022 and 2023 on the road in support of her critically acclaimed sophomore album, ‘Heart on My Sleeve,‘ is definitely paying off for Ella Mai.

Over a year after ‘Sleeve’ slid into the Billboard 200’s top 20 (becoming the second placement of her career in the chart region following the #5 peak of her self-titled 2018 debut album), the set continues to gain traction on streaming and digital download platforms.

Proof of the LP’s ongoing success was announced by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on Wednesday (June 14) when the organization took to press to reveal singles ‘DFMU‘ and ‘Not Another Love Song‘ had their certification statuses upgraded to Gold (for U.S.-based sales of 500,000) and Platinum (for U.S.-based sales of 1 million) respectively.

The news came the same day songs from her debut studio effort were also awarded upgrades.

‘Shot Clock,’ which is found aboard her debut album and later became a top 10 hit on R&B charts for her in 2019, was elevated to 2x Platinum. It becomes her third single to claim multiPlatinum stature following the project’s fellow hit singles ‘Naked’ (2x Platinum), ‘Trip’ (5x Platinum), and ‘Boo’d Up’ (7x Platinum). Elsewhere, ‘Anymore‘ was certified Gold and ‘Whatchamacallit‘ lifted to Platinum.

Together, the updates bring her cumulative single sales to 22 million in the U.S.
