With over 20 years of Pop cultural dominance, Beyonce is renown for having an impact that stretches far beyond the music charts.
And the latest measure of her mega-stardom comes from France.
Details below…
New statistics have revealed that Paris’ Louvre museum was visited by 10.2 million in 2018, making the art gallery the most attended space of its sort in the world.
Its director Jean-Luc Martinez touted the popularity of Beyonce and Jay-Z‘s ‘APESH*T’ video (which was filmed at the museum and featured prized items such as the Mona Lisa painting) as one of the primary reasons for the visitor lift.
Especially as foreigners made for nearly 75% of the Louvre’s visitors last year.
Martinez added that the news cemented that the city had recovered from the dip in tourism caused by terrorist attacks in 2015.
Released last June to signal the arrival of The Carters joint album ‘Everything Is Love,’ the ‘APESH*T’ visual has – to date – amassed 146 million views.
