Little Mix Set Sights On Cracking America / Perform ‘Think About Us’ At BRITs Nominations Special

Published: Sunday 13th Jan 2019 by Sam

Little Mix, in many ways, have remixed the “girl band” narrative.

Having won The X Factor in 2011, the Pop quad have amassed eight-years of non-stop success – seemingly growing more potent by the project.

Their trajectory deviates from the tried and true story of such collectives, which – by now – would have seen the ladies dabble in solo careers, reality shows, and indefinite hiatuses. None of which has been the case.

With 2019 underway and latest album ‘LM5’ still in promo cycle, the Little Mix have their eyes on cementing themselves Stateside.

Details below…

Having dramatically split from Simon Cowell’s Syco label on the cusp of their LP’s release, the girls seem more energised than ever to make a mark in America. A region they’ve dipped their toes in, but rarely dedicated time to. [Something fans have long suspected was a result of their Stateside counterparts (Fifth Harmony) being signed to the same imprint.]

Speaking in a recent interview with The Guardian, member Jesy Nelson said:

“That’s our main aim: we really want to crack America. We’re willing to put the work in.”

For now though, they’re revelling in homegrown wins.

As reported, the group received two nominations at the 2019 BRIT Awards. In celebration of the honour, they were on-hand at last night’s nominations special to perform newest single ‘Think About Us.’

Check out the showing below…

Great performance, with strong vocal moments from each member.

As for their US chances, we wish them the best.

In today’s oh-so-global marketplace, they definitely posses the potential to expand their reach. Especially as they’re already somewhat known on American shores.

We say strategic collaborations and an onslaught of US promo is the way to go. With this project and the next, the latter of which ought to come sooner rather than later.

Honestly they have the potential and they always deliver live vocally….since destiny’s child they’re the only group that serves a real good show all around while giving us those harmonies. Their management drop the ball cause they could have break out since their debut ??‍♂️

They should put “American Boy” out and make a video for it.

Agreed! American Boy and Motivate would be good US hits!

It’s never going to happen. Every album they’ve released here has done worse than the last one. They can’t even chart on the album charts for a month. They should focus on trying to sell in mainland Europe rather than chasing the impossible

    We good.

Let me just say this. Cardi B is hot right now in the US. When she and Nicki had that altercation on social media they took Nicki’s side. The general public will not forget that and hold them accountable for shading Cardi B so they can forget about it.

Not happening. Stick to the UK girls.

Little Mix can do it, but they have to sacrifice guaranteed money on a risk of taking America. They spend most of their time doing lucrative tours outside of the US and have done nothing to promote in the US since Black Magic.
