Normani and Sam Smith have unleashed the video for new single ‘Dancing With A Stranger.’
Directed by Vaughan Arnell, the slick clip features the duo as they contemplate and navigate the aftermath of a breakup.
Already a UK hit (#3) and fast rising in the US, the release is the first from both acts this year following recent successes with ‘Promises‘ (Smith) and ‘Love Lies’ ( Normani).

Purposefully understated but stunning nonetheless, the video’s moody mise en scene embodied the song brilliantly.
And while we’ll ever long for the blazing brand of ferocity Normani showcased at the Billboard Awards, the contemporary approach to her choreography complimented the clip beautifully.

Gorgeous visual. Made me love the song 10x more. Normani is such a visual act. Her music is going to always need visuals. She’s so amazing and her song waves is always on repeat.

Actually turned out quiet classy. They managed to make Sam Schmidt much less annoying than usual and the visual projections nod to fluid sexuality and adrogony felt like he was placed authentically – because of there was a girl up on his lap I be like chillllllle…..
Normani put on a show of which performance was at the core, well done to her, she has set a good bar for herself. Waves and Checklist are still ??? but I ain’t mad this turned out to be a different – but cool lane for her.
