As anticipated movies go, few can rival the almighty buzz surrounding ‘The Lion King.’ Not just theatrically, but musically.
For, with the Disney production being anchored by Donald Glover and Beyonce respectively, all eyes and ears are primed to take in what awaits sonically from the release (which hits the big screen on July 19th).
Details have been scarce, however Billy Eichner – who plays Timone – revealed one song that the music titans have officially teamed up for.

During a visit to Bravo’s ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ the actor confirmed that he performs an intro to ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ – which builds into a colossal collaboration on the song between Bey and Glover.

Penned and performed by Elton John in 1994 for the original film, the track has sold 11 million copies worldwide and has become a staple in both the movie and stage incarnations of ‘The Lion King.’
Needless to say, it’ll be intriguing to hear the contemporary spin Bey and co put not just on this song but on the entire soundtrack. We’re also super buzzed about all new material too.
