Madonna To Receive Honorary GLAAD Award For LGBTQ Support

Over the course of Madonna‘s illustrious career, the Pop queen has long been a loud, proud, and potent supporter of the LGBTQ community. Musically, politically, and socially.

Hence, it’s fitting that GLAAD have named her Madgesty as the recipient of their prestigious Advocate For Change Award at the upcoming GLAAD Media Awards.

The singer, who is readying new music for release this year, will be presented with the honor at the New York ceremony on May 4th. An event that serves as the GLAAD Awards 30th anniversary.

Speaking in a statement, GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said:

“From the HIV crisis to international LGBTQ issues, she fearlessly pushes for a world where LGBTQ people are accepted. Her music and art have been life-saving outlets for LGBTQ people over the years and her affirming words and actions have changed countless hearts and minds.”
