Khalid Announces Sophomore Album ‘Free Spirit’ / Accompanying Short Film Set For Worldwide Theatrical Release

Published: Friday 1st Mar 2019 by Sam

It’s sophomore season for rising star Khalid, who today announced his second studio album ‘Free Spirit.’

Two years have passed since the arrival of his Platinum selling debut ‘American Teen,’ and the 21-year-old has cemented himself as one of today’s most magnetic talents. Case in point hits such as ‘Location,’ ‘Young Dumb & Broke,’ and Normani collaboration ‘Love Lies.’

With last year’s ‘Suncity’ EP bridging the gap, it’s official time for chapter 2 on the LP front.

Details on his ambitious roll-out plan below…

Set for release on April 5th, ‘Free Spirit’ will be preceded by a like-titled short film – directed by Emil Nava.

The singer has teamed up with cinema distributor Trafalgar Releasing for a one-day theatrical screening of ‘Khalid Free Spirit’  on April 3rd worldwide.

Billed as a fan event, it’ll include an early listen of the full album. Additional details can be found at FreeSpiritTheMovie.net.

We love out of the box releases and this feels “big.’ Here’s hoping the music delivers.

Pending an answer, check out Khalid’s latest single ‘Talk’ below and check him out as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on March 9th.
