Published: Sunday 24th Mar 2019 by Sam

It’s been 14 years since Lil Kim last unleashed an album, but that’s all set to change. Because the female rap pioneer is finally set to unwrap her fifth studio effort.

And it’s coming sooner than you may think.

Details below…

While performing tonight, Notorious K.I.M revealed that her LP ‘9’ will arrive on May 17th.

She also confirmed that the set will feature an off the Richter collaboration with Rick Ross.

With lengthy waits come tall expectations.

Kimmy’s singles haven’t been rousing us much, but the prospect of an album (after this long) does. Here’s hoping she delivers.

Roll on May 17th!

I’m not sure what makes Kim feel like her music would be received well in this current music climate, but she needs to simply focus on business ventures. Our generation are all grown, with families, careers, and major responsibilities. Even if we stream the new album, the numbers won’t be enough to secure even a Top 40 chart placement. 80s & 90s ADULTS of present day don’t have time in a day to just play music over & over again to help her reach 1500 spins = 1 album unit sold. I love Kim & praise her pioneering efforts of s*** female rap, but this album is dead upon arrival. Her time truly has passed. It’s not an opinion. These are facts. No matter what she releases or who is featured or the label pushing the project, a new Lil Kim album in today’s landscape cannnot & will not make the tiniest dent within the industry.

I already feel sorry for her. This will flop so hard.

To be honest, I Loved lil Kim, but she lost her flow and somehow her voice. All the recent songs have been a mess and I doubt the material on this album will be better.

Go KIMMY! You only need one banging track. (Nas and Snoop drop albums that dont sell well so why cant KIMMY give it a try.)

I’m not mad at her for trying. Will it sell well ? I don’t think so but it’s nice for her fans who have been waiting since forever.

I wish Missy would release one as well… I know she’s been sick but ever since she got back on the scene nothing much happened. Everything flopped. But she’s still dope and super creative. I’m rooting for her.

WTF was not a flop. Top 25 Billboard pop. Top 10 Rap and certified platinum.

Crowd is dead … singles are flops … the time that the album should have been released was about 5 years ago. She’s done nothing to elevate her platform …
