Published: Tuesday 16th Apr 2019 by Sam

Some may believe it’s a man’s world, but there’s no denying the music industry is very much a woman’s universe.

And Live Nation Urban are celebrating this in a major way, for the entertainment juggernaut has has announced an all-star, all-female concert series named ‘Femme It Forward.’

Boasting a dream line-up, the trek will see many names – new, known, and notable – take to the stage in various venues in the US April through October.

On the bill are the likes of Cardi B, Brandy, Monica, Teyana Taylor, Ashanti, The City Girls, Mya, Keri Hilson, Jill Scott, Tweet, Faith Evans, Jorja Smith, and Amerie. All will perform alongside other acts.

Beyond the shows, it’ll also encompass conferences and panels aimed at promoting female unity.

Details and dates below…

Speaking on the venture, Heather Lowery, Live Nation Urban VP Talent & Touring said:

“Since our inception in 2017, Live Nation Urban continues to create opportunities for emerging and established urban artists — both on the stage and behind the scenes. This past year has been an exceptional one for women in music and entertainment, and with the incredible contributions of women, it is fitting that we honor the future of music and its continued steps on the path to inclusion.”

Check out the full-line-up…

A mind-blowing list of names for an amazing movement.

We’d love to see this slay out of the gate and grow into a festival. Whatever the case, the concept has incredible potential.

Tickets go on-sale this Friday (April 19th) via LiveNation.com. A portion of proceeds will be donated to philanthropic organizations that support the advancement of women.

This seems a little strange. For example, the Jill Scott date in Dallas, TX was already promoted as Jill Scott’s Block Party.

So I think this is just a way to cross promote gigs that were already going on for double exposure.

    • Meme April 16, 2019

Agreed it’s also misleading because I thought all the acts would be together. Like if City girls, Cardi B or Teyana ain’t there, no one paying this no mind. Those 3 are ironically at the same show. All others are irrelevant to me.

This is amazing for female R&b, real r&b. Since brandy and Monica are on the same dates, brandy needs to put her differences aside and perform their song together.

    • BIGGESTAALIYAHFAN April 16, 2019

I said the same thing. This is pretty amazing.

    • Keta April 16, 2019

Huh!!! Please don’t start that beef stuff it only exist I. Y’all’s head???

      • Meme April 16, 2019

How does it only exist in our heads when the ladies recent had a very public dispute? Brandy literally was just in social media shading Monica.

    • Paulo April 16, 2019

Hopefully they already have since they’re on the same dates.

I live in Washington DC, but I’m very interested in the two Dallas, TX dates that collectively include Brandy, Tweet, Faith Evans, Monica, Jill Scott, Keri Hilson, and Mya.

    Great lineups.
