New Song: Madonna – ‘I Rise’

Published: Friday 3rd May 2019 by Sam

Pop queen Madonna is keeping the content a’coming.

Fresh from pouring out new single ‘Medellin,’ modern music’s matriarch follows up with promo cut ‘I Rise.’

The Jason Evigan/Hazzard production is the latest to be lifted from the singer’s fourteenth studio album – ‘Madame X’ (which arrives on June 14th).

Take a listen to new Madge after the jump…

While it’s no single, we appreciate the song’s sonics. It functions as a welcome change of pace from ‘Medellin,’ while still fitting within the same musical picture she’s painting with the ‘Madame X’ album more broadly.

This song is dope and inspirational….she recorded the album in Libya and was influenced by all the different types of music there as well Portuguese music which she said the album is heavily influenced by. ??‍♂️ Anyways this album is shaping up to be dope I still play Rebel Heart

How could someone who wrote and produced Material Girl. Angel. Love tried to welcome me. Ray of Light. Have and not to Hold. Cherish. Vogue. Beautiful Scars – Release 2 back to back BAD albums and 2 corny old lady singles. Madonna – has lost her vibe and cutting edge energy. BYE MADGE

      • Seth May 3, 2019

The song is interesting in a way, but her vocal delivery is very reminiscent of Jennifer Lopez.

If I didn’t know this was a Madaonna song, I’d think it was a Jennifer Lopez track from back in the day.

I can’t with her new autotuned nasal voice.

The song is not that good as well. I preordered her album without listening, then I was disappointed with that Maluma songs (though he and his verses are s*** as hell in that song), and now this Second offer made me cancel the preorder

I love her but this sounds like Rebel Heart album filler and monotone. I want Frozen, Power of Goodbye, Rain, What it Feels Like for a Girl, I’ll Remember, Take a Bow or even Ghosttown ballads…this is meh

    :sip truth tea:

Why am I getting early J. Lo vibes and not in a good way, Madge? This is like a J. Lo ‘rebirth/This is Me..Then’ era filler track.

    • thanosoftitan May 3, 2019

That’s exactly how I feel. It sounds like Jennifer Lopez’s music of yesteryear.

I really like it and I must say I am excited for the new album.
    #Go Madge Go!

This might’ve been cute with a more heartfelt vocal. Instead she just sounds like a robot with all the autotune. Pass.

  14. Komodo May 4, 2019

Two crappy songs in a row. She has the talent, but she isn’t using it.

    • eric May 4, 2019

      I agree completely.

  15. Caleb May 6, 2019

    This is inspirational
