Predictions Are In: Tyler the Creator’s ‘IGOR’ To Eclipse DJ Khaled’s ‘Father of Asahd’

Published: Thursday 23rd May 2019 by Rashad

Not even the combined powers of Beyonce, Jay Z, Big Sean, John Legend, Cardi B, Meek Mill, and more could help DJ Khaled‘s latest album – ‘Father of Asahd’ – outpace Tyler the Creator‘s new project, ‘IGOR.’

According to industry analysts, Khaled – despite an aggressive promo schedule that’s not only seen him tackle radio, print, and TV but also seen him drop multiple music videos in his latest LP’s support – will bow at #2 on next week’s refreshed Billboard 200 with approximately 115k-130k sold (25k-35k pure sales).

Look inside to see just how many Tyler’s on track to move:

Tyler the Creator’s ‘IGOR’

Predicted first week sales (SPS): 150k-175k

Predicted first week sales (Pure):  65-85k

If the prediction proves true ‘IGOR’ will be Tyler’s first #1 on the Billboard 200.  His last effort, 2017’s ‘Flower Boy,’ bowed at #2 with 106k SPS its first week.

Tyler is EXTREMELY talented & very deserving. DJ Khaled is overhyped and relies too heavily on other people’s presence & talent to make his projects work.

    • Bravo!!! May 24, 2019

He a Dj of course he going to rely on other artist

      • Brent Christopher May 24, 2019

no dear. there exists PLENTY of DJ’s who rely on their beats & instrumentation to create music. including other acts is not an “of course” requirement. HOW OLD ARE YOU? i hate when millennials respond to music posts. yalls scope is totally & completely LIMITED!

      • Karter May 24, 2019

@Brent “there exists PLENTY of DJ’s who rely on their beats & instrumentation to create music” …well duh, DJ Khaled is one of them lol. The beats and instrumentation are his so what’s your point? Oh, and you do realize that the oldest millennial is pushing 40 and the youngest in their early 20s right? Wtf does being a millennial have to do with commenting on music post about music artist that we’ve made famous??

    • SNF May 24, 2019

Probably bc he’s a DJ. Many of them do that…

Is he the only one with a Male child? Allow that kid to breathe. DJ Khalid is so annoying.
If this kid was a girl, I dont think he would be parading her like this.
Glad he didnt get that number 1 spot.
Top off is a flop. LOL
All collaborations he did with the carters are flops. LOL

    • XYZ May 24, 2019

Those artists with their kids are annoying anyway. No one cares about your f****** kids. They did nothing nor do they have any input in the music. And i don’t want to see those damn covers with kids on my phone. They are just selling their siblings to gain some sympathy. Annoying as hell

    • BossboiV May 23, 2019

Ciara came in at #87, I’m not surprised this era was her messiest yet ??‍♂️

      • iamdiego May 24, 2019

        87!!!!

    • The truth always come to light May 24, 2019

      @LB

Ciara debuted at #87. She sold less than 5k… with streaming 8.5k!

Mf lies b**** hating ass h**

      • Faf May 24, 2019

100 million n she good !!! 200 sps equivalent worldwide first week Independent on her own label and a top 40 single another that’s near platinum. She’ll be gold streams equivalent by yr end.

Ciara should take note. This is how you release an album. Stay true to your people by having BLACK people in your videos and dancing and sell music that is relateable and the consumers will buy / stream your sh|t. Ciara got a bunch of white people running things and that is why she flopped. She ain’t relateable and her lyrics are not relateable. What person past the age of 5 can relate to lyrics like ‘Yummy yummy all in your tummy’? Girl Bye!

    • JaylaTooBad May 24, 2019

      Hating ass h**

    • Faf May 24, 2019

Rihanna and Beyonce don’t relate to they own lyrics cuz they don’t write them skskdkdj

      • Faf May 24, 2019

Ps The song u quoting is certified so thanks for the streams ironic how u say u can’t relate but know the words

      • Jasmine May 24, 2019

@Faf There will always be adult retards like you who think those elementary lyrics are relateable and FAKE fans who attack others for having a difference of opinion. TGJ is FAKE too. Why don’t yall add Ciara to the “TGJ on Spotify” section if yall truly her fans. Yall too FAKE and I’m just can’t be fake like that. I say what I mean and mean what I say!

    • SMH May 24, 2019

Then can you explain how beyonce flopped with 14k even with her pandering to black folks by exploiting HBCU culture when she never spent a day in her life in a black college, or any college for that matter?

      • Nice Try May 24, 2019

And how did it work for Ciara who has been pandering to white people for 15 years with a debut at 87 and 6000 albums sold? Is Ciara on Beyonce’s level? Who’s touring stadiums and whos an opening act as a Veteran??? Ciara the urban album is eligible for Gold. Body Party top 40 and eligible for Platinum. Beauty Marks had more promo then Beyonce’s OLD songs on a Live album and still tanked. Your argument is null and void… numercially and commercially. Nice try

    • iamdiego May 24, 2019

      lol

  7. biancacook May 24, 2019

Do ppl understand that Khaled is the dj? He cuts beats around artists and makes it an album. He’s not a rapper, just the dj/producer

  8. Gee May 24, 2019

Khaled has oversaturated the market with the same typical album every year. With the same features with the exception of a few the only one missing is Nicki. Honestly out of 15 songs he has 3-4 decent to good songs. He started off wrong with that horrible Top off song his collaborations with The Carters are always weak and wack.

  9. Caleb May 24, 2019

Why did TGJ completely ignore Ciara’s #87 debut this week with 6,000 units moved? If it were Rihanna there would have been a headline.

    • LB May 24, 2019

      This!!!!
