Published: Tuesday 11th Jun 2019 by Sam

Beyonce and Jay-Z surprised fans this time last year with the digital drop of joint album ‘Everything Is Love.’

Released under the alias of The Carters, the set was spearheaded by sole single ‘APESH*T’ – the video for which was famously shot in The Louvre in Paris.

A year on, the power couple continue to reap the rewards from the LP (which was unleashed in conjunction with their ‘On The Run II Tour’).

Details on their latest milestone below…

In the latest round of certifications by the RIAA, it’s been confirmed that ‘APESH*T’ has been awarded the Platinum honor – for selling 1 million equivalent units.

Huge congrats!

Moving forward, it’s set to be a busy window for Queen Bey – who’ll be hitting the promo trail for ‘The Lion King.’

Starring as Nala, the diva will serve as an integral part of the film’s musical push – performing songs from the original and leading the charge of new material crafted in support of the live-action remake.

Pending its July unveiling, re-live the video for ‘APESH*T’ below…

L I E S ! on what universe did this record sell one million units? i swear, money really does buy industry accolades. their joint album was yet another sub par effort that pulls the rug back on the FLUFF that is their “royal” image. neither of them truly push the units that industry articles and charts suggest they do. I do not for five seconds accept the streaming numbers for Jay Z’s 4:44 effort or Beyonce’s “Lemonade” project. TIDAL is used a smoke & mirrors cover up for their less than impressive listens, spins and contemporary sales. YES, both entertainers are well known and idolized, BUT that level of notoriety does not translate into massive album or single units sold for either of them. seriously. their audience reach simply isnt on the level to push millions of units of hundreds of millions of streams within a short period of time. its takes 3-4 years for their more recent projects to physically hit REALISTIC platinum or double platinum status. its the TRUTH.

Well, I thought Beyonce was a boring uninteresting snooze fest? Yet hear you are ranting and losing your marbles over a single that came out a year ago? What’s surprising about that? You’re very delusional to think Beyonce have so much power and money that they need to pay for one single to go platinum. You really think Beyonce and jay z have so much money and power they pay of every single branch in the music industry. Bruh you loonies really need to get a grip. You acting cray cray over a ONE PLATINUM SINGLE??? bruh your mum should have swallowed. It would be funny if it wasn’t so pathetic.

nowadays a song can be certified multi-platinum just from getting a bunch of views on YouTube so don’t act surprised.

And how long this song been out for ?????

  4. Lol June 11, 2019

It took a whole year for it to go platinum? That’s it?

  5. Meme June 11, 2019

      The song, not the album.

  6. That B**** June 11, 2019

People forget that this song was a top ten hit on urban radio! Congrats Bey!

    • That B**** June 11, 2019

  7. Dc June 11, 2019

Took this long overrated artists hype is bigger than their sales 😂😂

    The struggle is real.
I use to think Jay z was the one dragging beyonce down but it’s the other way round. Beyonce is dragging Jay z down. If he did this song or this album (everything is love) with Rihanna, or justin Timberlake or pharrell or drake or even lady gaga , this song will probably go top 10 and the album would have reached number 1.
Beyonce is dead weight. Jay z u dont need her, ur a billionaire she is beneath u.

  9. Gee June 11, 2019

Damn that is the longest either one of them probably had to wait for a Platinum certification. With these two you expect at least Gold out of the gate.

I wish that they had released the song Boss as a single, that was the only song that I liked from that album

  11. Anne June 11, 2019

It doesn’t matter how long it took the song to go platinum, all that matters is that it DID go platinum. Some songs never get there while some others get there quick and the fizzle out just as quickly. Regardless of whether it takes 1 day or 1 year, platinum is platinum.

  12. pat June 11, 2019

even level up was bigger than this

    • That B**** June 11, 2019

Level up didn’t make the top ten of urban radio.. ApeShit peaked at #3..sit

  13. ??? June 11, 2019

U should waste less time worried about the Carters and invest more efforts into conjuring enough Spells to make sure R#9 eventually sees the light of day, seems rih is too scared, sticking to fashion cuz riherpes can’t make money doing music with poor album/ticket sales. Try getting ANTI SOCIAL to pass 600K pure Sales and 1.5 M WW when LEMONADE sold 2 mill US and 3.5 M WW. With 8 albums RIH SCHEDULE has only sold 30 Mill… That’s an avg of only 3.8 mill per album 💀. Bey sold 35 mill from 6 an avg of 5.5 mill.

BTW When is rihsceduled next Stadium Tour set for?

    • DIABETES UNBOTHERED June 11, 2019

Why does bey sell on AVG 2 million more copies WW than Rih Scedule? With less #1s and promo? I predict R9 sells 45k first WK pure … with streaming 88k lol

  14. DIABETES UNBOTHERED June 11, 2019

    @ ???

Everything Is Love is certified Gold BTW. Meanwhile R#9 has barely been started on

  15. GG June 11, 2019

And yet all hated on Ciara for going platinum with Level up with in a year !

  16. thanosoftitan June 11, 2019

This is probably my least favorite track from Beyoncé to date.

Very pedestrian, and unoriginal. She needs a new team. Tell old man Jay-Z to sit the next album out.
