Chart War? Chris Brown & Daniel Caesar Drop Albums On The Same Day

Published: Friday 28th Jun 2019 by David

There’s room for more than one R&B prince on the charts….but only one artist can claim the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 next week.

Now, after dropping albums on the same day, the charismatic Urban Pop icon Chris Brown and the romantic singer/songwriter Daniel Caesar find themselves going head to head and toe to toe to as both artists and their respective camps set their sights on that spot.

Who will come out on top?

Chris dropped his new album ‘Indigo’ this morning and watched it sail straight to #2 on the iTunes chart (commendable as this is a pure sales chart) as Daniel’s ‘Case Study 01‘ nabbed stellar reviews but enjoyed a more modest opening on the chart when it hit #55 and #553 in the United Kingdom.

However, Daniel’s numbers can be expected to rise as the rest of the world wakes up  and benefit from the stellar reviews it is receiving from fans globally.

Brown’s ‘Indigo’ is armed with 32 tracks and features lyrics penned by Lyrica Anderson, R.Kelly, Mark Pitts, Tyga and Lil Jon and follows the unveiling of the streaming magnet ‘Heartbreak on a Full Moon.’

How do you feel about the releases…and which one do you think will stand the test of time?

Weigh in below…

I don’t know. The albums already dropped so I think it’s a little too late for competition.

DESPITE DANIEL CEASAR’S PROBLEMATIC PERSPECTIVE & POINTS OF VIEW, his album is a cohesive body of classic work — rich in sonic textures, consciously charged lyrical content, rhythmic textiles & mature, grown man themes.

The project captures the rare essence of renaissance creation, paired with contemporary love & modern day musical magic.

THIS IS THE TYPE OF MUSIC THAT IS LACKING ON THE FRONT END OF MAINSTREAM POP CULTURE.

I applaud the featured record alongside R&B chanteuse, BRANDY. The honey coated vocals offered along this track echoes the purity of original soul music. Their monogamy blend lends to the imagination of what could BE in the once celebrated genre of rhythm and blues.

    Daniel Ceasar for the WIN!!

Ya just don’t respect ya selves
      ??

True but how can anyone respect themselves and actually buy a Chris Brown album. His music is literally the cheapest form of r&b known to man. The production is lazy, the themes a bore and his vocals Are southern fried. I won’t support any of them .

@2bad… – I have to agree with you. It kinda felt like it was torturing me to listening to 30 freakin’ songs of his. They all started to sound a like for a bit. I don’t hear much different from his last albums. S**, s** and more s**.

A self loathing brother vs a woman beating drug addict. Slim pickings for real.

    • Danny Bey June 28, 2019

      “slim pickings” lmfaoooooooooo

  7. Steve June 28, 2019

Chris brown will win due to popularity but Daniel Ceaser will snatch awards due to talent and coersive body of work.

Sad day for R&B when these two are the only choices.

    • LemonLove June 28, 2019

      Oh yes.

  9. Lol June 28, 2019

Well both are being beaten by an unknown alternative group on iTunes so it doesn’t really matter.
