Nicki Minaj‘s erotic new single ‘Megatron’ enjoyed a substantial streaming boost last night.
Find out how and why below…
The rapper did not attend last night’s BET Awards but, thanks to performances and awards nabbed by her peers, friends and foes, dominated discussion on social media during the brilliantly produced show.
The sum of this? Major gains for ‘Mega.’
When the clock struck twelve this morning, total streams of the jam surpassed the 30 million mark across all platforms making it one of the fastest-moving BET Awards-related tracks…despite the fact that it was missing from the show’s official festivities.
Fuelling the conversation around Minaj? Lil Nas (the chart-topping Country prince who was a prominent member of her fan base in another digital life) and Cardi B.

‘Mega’ is expected to see commendable numbers in its opening week and has already earned over $315,000 from YouTube and $16,000 (4 million streams) from Spotify.
Quite interestingly, the song is currently outselling tracks performed on the night.
