I couldn’t love this woman more than I already do but have to say. Basic basic, song and video. She saves it because she’s stunning.

I fear Beauty Marks made it’s not so great mark on the world of music and now it’s being wiped off.

    This was low budget.
    I like the hair style.
Not feeling her having no black dancers.

    • Josh June 14, 2019

She used a dance crew by the name of The Lab. They won last season on Jennifer Lopez’s show World of Dance. They are going on tour with Jennifer actually. Ciara met them when she was a guest mentor on World of Dance last season. Ciara is always reaching back to the dance community and giving aspiring dancers and dance crews a shot. In her Level Up video, she used Parris Goebel’s New Zealand-based dance crew The Royal Family. Ciara does have black dancers. Her longtime choreographer is black.

      • Jasmine June 14, 2019

You wrote all that to say nothing. She has no black dancers! She wants black people to buy her music but she is not hiring black dancers. Thus, her album flopped out of the charts in its 2nd week and has not even sold 2K physical copies. That means she and her music are not being marketed correctly. She should go back to being an urban artist and build a fan base who will buy her albums. Look at Bruno Mars. He got a solid pop audience and then got an urban audience later which helped his album sales. Telling me where her non-black dancers came from is meaningless and I’m sure any record label exec would agree with me. Ciara needs that urban edge with a visibly diverse team to be successful. Remember, Ciara is black. She can’t copy what Jennifer Lopez does and expect success. Also, Despite what you say, Jennifer always has black people on stage with her like male dancers. Same goes for Britney and Madonnna. I have NEVER seen them do music videos and concerts where there are no black people. It is an insult to black dancers to exclude them. Black people are the ones who invented the dances and moves the world immitates.

    • StarXavi June 14, 2019

Girl you love to act like you know everything. The video clearly states that its Ft. The Lab. They are not her dancers. Her personal dancers are of all colors, including and mostly black.

      • Jasmine June 14, 2019

Don’t come for me without RECEIPTS. Give me one receipt from 2019 where Ciara had black dancers? I’ll wait. There are NONE. She purposefully does not hire black dancers anymore! That is a FACT. My receipts are EVERY 2019 performance and video!!!!!!!!!!!

    • ChiChi June 15, 2019

Who cares! She gives all dancers an opportunity! She had plenty of black dancers in dose and danced to freak me in Africa’s! She doesn’t have to be Mother Dashiki she recognizes all talent!

  3. Erica June 14, 2019

This look & outfit is how she should be looking during her live performances, other than that the video is meh & the song is s*****. She needs a big label cause this is a fail

  5. Drip June 14, 2019

I love Ciara so much, and I know she’s doing everything with little to no budget being that she’s under her own imprint but I would loooove to come in and give some creative direction. Plus that blonde Ellen wig was sooo distracting for me.

  9. Gee June 14, 2019

This was not it, Ciara has lost her creative juices she really needs some direction because she should be on the top level but she continues to sell herself short with the basic ness.

    • Josh June 14, 2019

Ciara needs to find her sound. I don’t think Ciara ever had a sound of her own. She came out during the Crunk music era and was dubbed the “First Lady of Crunk&B”. Crunk music was already popular and catching buzz in Atlanta as well as mainstream before Ciara even came along. Ciara was a part of a musical trend. She was the first female artist to introduce Crunk music. Before her, it was mostly the Atlanta rappers like Lil Jon and Ying Yang Twins. When the whole Crunk movement faded out, so did her career unfortunately. That is why Ciara hated being called the “First Lady of Crunk&B”. And also, why she tried so hard to distance herself from that. In a way she was pigeonhole in Crunk music just like how Donna Summer and Disco music. When disco ended, Donna Summer’s career declined. Ciara was still in high school when she signed her first record deal. I wish Jazze Pha, who discovered her, would’ve helped to create a sound that was all hers instead of just adding her to the Crunk movement just because she’s from Atlanta. Ciara needed her OWN distinctive sound that was career defying just like when Brandy linked up with Rodney Jerkins for the Never Say Never album and then Full Moon. Ciara has so much potential but I felt like it was wasted.

      • Jasmine June 14, 2019

I agree somewhat. I think the problem reverts back to Ciara’s decisions. Technically, Ciara could have kept doing crunk inspired rnb and been successful. Her 2008 song Ride is a good example. Same goes for her song ‘Body Party’ produced by her ex Future. Crunk is just southern hip-hop so when you mix rnb with it that gives you a signature sound. She ran away from the sound that made her known and her attempts at pop have all failed. Now she is in her mid thirties and is looked at as an auntie rather than a young rnb artist. The only part I do not agree with is her being the first crunk rnb artist. That is not true. Oobie was doing it years before Ciara and was doing crunk rnb music since the very beginning of crunk music. Xscape did crunk songs on their albums in the 90s and 00s. Let’s not forget Ghostown DJs releases My Boo in 1995. Missy Elliott did crunk in the mid 90s through 00s. Nivea was doing crunk music before Ciara too. There are lots of other hit crunk songs in the 90s and 00s before Ciara. Ciara did not come out till 2004. Most of the people who credit Ciara is the Princess if Crunk are not truly versed in southern hip-hop and its origins which date back to the 90s Freaknik parties in Atlanta.

  10. smh June 14, 2019

No growth, just plain generic and boring. Go away!!!!!

  11. xedos June 14, 2019

Ciara reminds me of some sports players who don’t know when its over and its time to hang it up

  12. ~The Arcade~ June 14, 2019

Probably one of her weakest visuals yet, but choreography is on point.

  13. Dc June 14, 2019

    White girl sellout

  14. Fast_Persuader June 14, 2019

    Ugh. ? Bless her heart.

  15. Tyty June 14, 2019

I’ve just noticed ciara doesn’t surround herself with black people in her professional life. Even all her dancers are white.

    • Haterz Gon‘ Hate June 14, 2019

But what does that mean? Has she disrespected black people? Disowned her family? Had surgery and skin bleaching to reduce her black features? NEVER DATED A BLACK MAN????????? You know nothing about her other than what you see that is scripted and produced for you to see. The absence of visible black dancers says nothing about her relationship with her heritage – because she has had black dancers and collaborated BEFORE. SMH ??‍♂️

      • Tyty June 14, 2019

You need to relax before you give yourself palpitations. I can comment on my observations. Obviously, I think there is an underlying reason she doesn’t seem to work with any black people professional.

    • Nicky June 14, 2019

You sound silly. Jamaica (a black woman) for one is her choreographer lol.

  16. Xoxo June 14, 2019

Why is she wearing garbage bags????

  17. Maxx June 14, 2019

Low budget, but it’s Ciara doing what she does best..dance & look cute. I think it could have been better. I wish it would have had some color..what’s up with the black Cici?

  18. A&R June 14, 2019

I can tell that Ci is finding her stride as an independent and self-lead creative. The intention and effort is there but the target is being missed. This is only a concern because she’s seasoned. If she were a new artist, there would be way… more overlook and grace given. Ahhh.. I wish this was shot in the streets of ATL, at night.. with a darker treatment… creating a lot of silhouette and shadows. Also, would’ve preferred high fashion version of hood style… sneakers with gaudy elements up top. See Tinashe All Hands on Deck video costume. And I see purple illumination somewhere too. Needlessly to say.. this song has so much performance and dance potential but this video and her live performances of it fall shy of the glory. I look forward to her finding her creative peak and ASAP! She’s a vet now. Ain’t much more grace to give.

    Keep pushing!

  19. A&R June 14, 2019

And to help folks better understand.. Solange seems to have worked with a small budget as well. But hell, sometimes you takes creatively takes us further than we want to lol. Ciara has to find her artistic sweet spot like yesterday ??

  20. GH June 14, 2019

Majority of the comments are negative and uncalled for. it’s cool if you didn’t like the video but the unneccessary shade is definitely not needed.

    • Lina June 14, 2019

U aint see nothing yet. If it were Beyonce, Nicki Minaj or Taylor Swift it would have been 10 times worst.

  21. Rico June 14, 2019

The look was there but it was missing something. It should have been dance crews sets repping their set….. Ciara needs to have more black women dancers, they usually bring the beast out of her.

  22. Jasmine Da Bi Asian PISCES ??‍♀️Not 37 year old TROLLmine nor TRASHmine June 14, 2019

Ciara’s so lit and the lab is the s****. Simple yet effective- love it!!!!!! Not a lot of folks could do a video like this with merits riding solely on performance. Keep doing your thing cici.

    • Jasmine June 15, 2019

Your taste in music sucks just as bad u give blowjobs b|tch n|gga

    • Jasmine June 15, 2019

Shut it b|tch n|gga. Go back to trying to be a writer and leave the comment section for real commenters.

  23. MonkeyseeMonkeydo June 14, 2019

Why am I watching a video of a black artist with little to no black dancers?!? Ciara really my love, fire your team! ??‍♂️

    • Jh June 14, 2019

Ciara is all lives matters hun. She believes she is white and only associates with her black family and a few suspect self hating Black celebrity friends. All have had nose jobs and whatever else to reduce their African blood. Ciara is doing this on purpose if you have watched her. I don’t think she is all the way there. Something is off about her and Russell.

    • Jasmine Da Bi Asian PISCES ??‍♀️Not 37 year old TROLLmine nor TRASHmine June 15, 2019

The lab is a Filipino dance group she mentored on reality show World Of Dance. They’re who she’s collaborating on the video (hence the feature) and giving a platform to since they ended up winning the reality show. Duh. Stop trying to make a race thing a thing if you’re too dumb to pay attention.

      • Jasmine June 15, 2019

Shut it dude. U ain’t no Jasmine. U are a man in a dress with bad tastes in music

  24. Coco June 14, 2019

Ohhhhh noooo sis! She using the stage from the evolution tour! That was over ten years ago level up sis!

  25. MF June 14, 2019

    Swag

  26. ERIC June 15, 2019

Janet is my favorite, so of course I’m going to notice that Ciara’s outfit attempts to copy what Janet wore for her MTV performance of “Doesn’t Really Matter”. Hairstyle and staging is similar too. Please stop, Ciara.

  27. Keith June 15, 2019

Actually, I think the editorial comment “simple, yet effective” is the best statement made about this video. It adds a little more pop to a song that is boring as hell to LISTEN to, so I guess it’s a relative win…
