‘A No No’ is just what rising rapstress Stefflon Don committed on June 19th (Juneteenth of all days) when a post lifted to her Instagram account to promote her new single was interpreted as tone deaf.
The British femcee – teasing the release of the music video for her new single ‘Phone Down’ (click here to watch) – probably should have put hers down as she captioned a video of her “being arrested” by a white police officer with the phrase, “Bloodclaat mi a get locked up Black Lives Matter,” as people laughed in the background.Array
Needless to say, many of her followers didn’t exactly get the joke. After calling her out on the culturally insensitive scene, Steff immediately clapped back…

In addition to the ‘president’ comment above, Don reportedly told commenters:
“Get your sensitive ass out of my comments plz about Black Lives ain’t no joke who da fuq said it was? And if you aint physically done nothing about it then definitely don’t say nothing because you don’t really care you think typing on insta will solve your problems lol.”
“Educate your self. By the way slavery aint no joke either but you still tune in to watch the movie that makes the same white man who enslaved you money and you applaud it and they get rewarded for it now go underneath the real enemies comments not mine.”
Her responses only added fuel to the fire – a heat that eventually led her to delete the post (scene above courtesy of our friends at TSR). The deletion certainly didn’t stop Twitter users from weighing in. See some of their responses to the hoopla below:
